If this is the kind of information you could get online, then rain makers would have since gone out of business.

I think it is more of a spiritual connection that rain makers have and also being in tune with nature more than the average man has. Note that these rain makers are usually traditionalists by religion and they have several spiritual practices that the average non-traditionalist does not have.

until they make rain in the dry season, then I will not take them serious. they key indregients involved in rain making is faith. once you give the alleged rain maker the required thing, you have absolute faith that there will be no rain and just like you believed, you will see none and if you do otherwise, you will expect to see massive rain and it will surely come

The answers you seek cannot be found online. Maybe you should pay a visit to your village and ask around

All I can say is I remember when I was young about 12 growing up in the village, and there was this feared traditionalist who was reputed to hold or release the rain.

There came a particular year, getting into March of that year there was no single rain. The land and forests were dried up and farmers were crying for rain. The villagers decided to meet. I think the meeting was whether it was worth it seeing the rainmaker, since some people no longer believed him, due to culture depletion. I think I was hearing something like "he wasn't as competent as his late father" or something like that. I heard he used to be believed so much in the past and due to unbelieve and lack of care by the villagers he fell out of love with them, and seized the rain for that year.

Well, long story short, after a meeting the villagers contributed foodstuffs and little money, then met the man and begged him to release the rain. Everybody was waiting for the rain. That night there was a lot of thunder and signs of rain, but no real rain. Two days later the rain fall and it was a heavy rain, it was such a heavy rain that one little boy from the negbouring village was swept by the torrents and was never seen alive again. The older men and women and extreme traditionalists went back to the man to tell him it was enough. I do not forget things, so what I'm narrating here seems it happened yesterday.

This's just one of those things science can't explain. Could our forefathers been practising advanced science?.

There is nothing like artificial rain making.. It's only one person that knows about each drop of rain on earth...

I learned how to make rain fall even in dry season when i was in Nigeria, my grandfather was a voodoo priest.
The only items you need is bricks (stones) ogirisi (only the Igbo's will know this) Ukpaka(only the Igbo's knows what it is)

You make a huge fire and you're good to go.
It's not done in public.
Our forefathers are the greatest scientists, making artificial rain is no magic, Smokes and evaporation is what makes the cloud cloudy and rainy.
And the funny part is that it will only be falling in a that particular area you made the stuff.

Interesting topic. I have witnessed this first had. Let me share the last experience

I attended my uncle's burial ceremony in my Village 4yrs ago. Very early in the morning, and these three old men come to our house and were demanding kegs of palmwine, cow leg and some outreagous amt of cash. They claimed to be the Village rain makers. So we refused and sent them away.

Abt 30 minutes later, two come back with clay pot, and made fire some distance from our house and were boiling some leaves and reciting some fetish stuffs.I found it very interesting to watch. After about an hour clouds started to gather. At this point, it began to dawn on some of my "Lagos uncles" that this Village people were rily SERIOUSLY.

Some people began to pray while others were trying to negociate with the old men. They refused. Believe it or not, it rain heavily that day and almost disrupted the whole burial.

If you want to see rain making just go to EDO State.

Those ones in the rural areas make money during the raining season as some of those who have events such as burials, do sought out there services to prevent rainfall!
