Lagos Commonwealth is used to feed your rural enclave. Lagos contributes trillions of Naira in revenue that accrue mostly from Import duty, company tax and VAT into the Nation's purse yearly. How much is Lagos given in return as Federal allocation? 200 billion naira or less. Lagos is shortchanged my friend. Lagos builds Nigeria's Commonwealth, not the other way round.

On the contrary, Lagos is a monopoly that was created and sustained by Nigeria unity, and would be deflated to its real status the moment Nigeria disintegrates.

Lagos needs Nigeria to remain United to remain relevant, it feeds off Nigeria and not the other way round.

What it was built for is not important.

The Port currently receives vessels but most of them are filled with oil field equipment.

All they have to do is open up the ports, clear out the waterways, dredge it if needed and give the state some degree of control on the port.. If we drop import duty in Rivers State Port to be lower than Apapa and Tincan, omo vessels will start entering the port.

See, the Customs gusy for Port Harcourt port are like vultures, if you dare import anything into that port, they will pounce on you and suck you dry before your goods can come out of the ports because no be everyday dem dey see ship. But the moment incentives can be put in place to encourage importers to use the port, trust me, vessels will divert.[/b]

For example, it makes no sense for a product heading to the north to be imported into Lagos when Calabar port is there.
yes I agree with you..maybe that ayade's calabar port and road linking to north really has to be commended and it should done to specification and timeline..also that proposed port in akwa ibom(if the site is really deep sea) has to be looked into(since alongside lekki port) is one of the ports this govt is to look into..port activities in the eastern flank has to be revived to reduce this one way traffic to Lagos

Hameed alli needs to look into those ph port guys and flush the fools out

Ok, never knew GEJ led FG later guaranteed the loan for LASG, but I knew that the Nairaland APC Yoruba crew raised a big dust then, when GEJ refused to initially approve the loan.

Either way, it goes to show how dependent Lagos is on Nigeria as an entity.

In your warped mind it is Lagos state that built and maintains the ports.

It is Lagos state that oversees import duties?

Nigerian youths are really ignorant.
In your deluded mind, it is the oil producing states that built and maintained the oil installations all over the Niger Delta.
You informed relic.

They even claim their #5000 tax money is enough to sustain such infrastructure, even though Lagos is indebted with loans they borrowed for such projects. Igbos lying liars.

the Real Hebrew Israelites in the Bible are Black people (Bantu) of Africa.
Song of Solomon 1:5-6 King James Version (KJV)
I AM BLACK, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
Look not upon me, because I AM BLACK, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Job 30:30- King James Bible
My SKIN IS BLACK upon me, and my bones
are burned with heat.

Up until May 29, 2015, I wake everyday with trepidation fearing when the next disheartening story of the rot in govt will be installed.

But since then, I wake up looking for the next instalment of the good news from the FG under PMB.This has been my desire and I am enjoying it.

If however, your desire is a return to the do or die era of PDP, I am sorry, you have to emigrate to Syria.

Was Lagos state aligned with the centre when Jonathan approved $1 billion World Bank loan for this same project?
Was it
FG unexpectedly withheld approval to guaranteee one of the tranche of the loan , and the project suffered for it

then look at this
“It took us four and half years to get approval for the project. It took us another four years to get them to discuss the technicality of the project with us.
This is terribly bad !, shame on FG playing childish politics on such a worthwhile development

How do you know that the statement from the Lagos state official is true?
How
Have you heard the saying that:

Agbo ejo enikan da, agab osika ni - an elder who judges only from one side's story is a wicked elder

Why can't you ask the question of where the aloku scrap metal trains Fashola spent borrowed $1 billion on in Toronto since 2011 are?
Why is that so difficult for you to ask?
