They are both nice places but if you love nature and scenic beauty, Calabar is your destination or plateau.

Uyo is a cool and coordinated place with less drama.
I know nooo just my thought, I have not been to those places.

Since you said you've not been to either place, what are your conclusions/thoughts based on?

If you go to banana island and buy a plot of land so you can hoard it and resell it years later. Then u need cane! You buy a plot of land for 600m and u dey wait make e enter 2bn by year 2050. These areas have reached their peak!!! You buy a mansion for 850m only to rent it for 20m annually. 20years, U never recover ur cash noni. I'm speaking from aan Investment point of view, because me I be igbo boy. Awum nwa afor. And as a geology graduate, with Increasing sea level, climate change and melting polar ices. Banana island and its environs is a disaster waiting to happen!

How can I pay $200,000 for a flat and pay $15,000 per annum for maintenance ? angry
with that kind of money, I will buy my own Island (in this same Lagos) complete with my own waterfront and nature all around me.
The most naturally beautiful part of Lagos is hidden from 95% of Lagosians.

I will rather settle down in a mansion that is less expensive in Ibadan, delta or Calabar where there is no crazy traffic, few people, low standard of living and fresh air.

Exit the main gate of Banana Island and you will experience crazy Lagos life.
No disrespect sis but I am sorry that with this ur mentality u ll never be rich.
Have u ever wondered y a business man will leave offices he could hv rented in agege or abulegba for 200k and will rent d same office for 2m per annum in Victoria island, it's cos he needs to connect to make more money.
In ur local language it's called connection but in business it's called economies of scale, so u can relate if u re business inclined .Did u think d likes of adenuga and dangote dnt have mansions in ijebu or kano? They do but they must connect thus they need to hv mansion in banana island to connect and prove a point thus it's a perogative.
What a rich man sees from far the poor will always think it's stupid thus the poor remains poor and the rich gets richer.
A change in mentality is what u need and so it's not waste of money but a business strategy, u shld also pray that u get there so u too can mingle and connect with the billionaires.

I ll rather buy 20 plots of land in this kind of serene environment, build a nice small mansion with a small jetty for my boat. Build a perimeter fencing around the my property so when I wake up in the morning, I will see no fence (though it's there) around me instead I ll see greenery and nature. Lagos is indeed beautiful.

So a place like this is really in my country? Beautiful.
So why do they usually show Ugliest part of Nigeria on NL. like Aba after rain, or some parts of Lagos being flooded ? And there are places like this?

Because it doesnt. The first give away was the land planning. Nigeria doesnt do any land planning.

You forgot to mention how it floods there when it rains. grin I can remember the day my shoe got lost in the deep streams that flood the road when it rains right in front of the big white apartment that would end up becoming LINDA IKEJI's house. Mehn If linda ikeji truly can own that property then she is made.

I was born and bred in Lagos Nigeria. i am over 30 but swimming in poverty. i attended a university in Ogun state but i dropped out due to the loss of my mother who happened to be my sponsor back then. My father died before i was 4years old so i had no one to fall back on. I am the only child and life has been so cruel to me. I have no job at hand. My fathers family has taken possession of his property at Agege Lagos because they insist my mother had me for another man due to stories i'm hearing for the first time since my parent's demise. The story of my life is so wide, bitter and depressing. The moral of my epistle is that i need a casual job to survive. I am contemplating suicide at the moment and i almost drank sniper insecticide today. This is my last attempt at survival before i do the needful on my existence. Nairalanders please help me find any legal job be it unskilled labour. I have tried and tried but to no avail. Pardon me for been incoherent. I am a depressed soul waiting to see if my life can have a second chance.
