I don't think long hijabs should be allowed. If everyone looks at this matter objectively, both sides have good points. However, I cannot risk my life or that of my children because I want to respect someone else's religious practices. If they are allowed to wear hijab, some terrorists would use this medium to sneak in and KABOOM! Everyone is dead, even those in hijab would not be safe too. Besides, what are they wearing this shii for?

How do people in Hijab take passports sef.
Them no write WASSCE?

muslims hate objectivity so you are not making sense to them. the only solution is to allow all other religions have their freedoms too: Christian girls to wear skirts, sango worshippers to come with their beads around their neck, etc, then we will see who will call for negotiations

It's compulsory cos of the times we are iin! The military must have gotten a red alert info of a possible strike at camps with hijab.

ii stayed so many years iin the core north, non muslims are forced to wear hijabs n for not bearing a muslim name ii lost an admission into univ.

ii therefore completely disagree that the reason hijab iis worn iis nt for decency cos the ones that are my friends claim they simply wear iit to pls em parents not God
wc state in d north did u live in please, and pls wc univ denied a lady admission because she didn't agree 2 wear hijab? I graduated from UDUS and believe me u, dat over 35% of its students are southerners. UDUS have never discriminated against persons dat dnt wear hijab. Nevertheless, it does punish any student found 2 dress indecently irrespective of his/her religious affiliation. Indecent dressing in dis term include wearing mini skirts by ladies, sagging dia shirts in such a way dat almost half of dia breasts are exposed, wearing of transparent dresses and shorts dat reveals dia sensitive parts. For d boys, it include sagging dat reveals boxers nd pants, wearing unbuttoned shirts and wearing shorts 2 classes. This I'm sure many universities all over d country discourage. And finally, jst because ur friends as u claim wear hijabs jst 2 please dia parents doesn't change d fact dat its Allah's order 2 wear hijab. If a lady doesn't want 2 wear d hijab in camp is her own problem, but if she does want 2 wear, y deny her right? Its very simple

All state secondary school iin sokoto the seat of caliphate wears hijab(eg Nana girls with many non muslims)

Sir, ii was denied admission iin udus cos am not a muslim nt ma frnd, after passing DE for computer science ii went for verification n was asked my name after which the guy asked who gave me the admission that ii can't get iit. Cos am tired of sitting at home ii wanted just any course buh change of course never happened, iin the aftermath ii lost a hard earned admission offer.

Meanwhile a guy ii know very well just added an Islamic name to his names n also wore caftan n was given his offer.

are u telln me dat it is compulsory for every girl in second school in Sokoto 2 wear hijab? And Nana girls 2 be specific? Brother I'm sorry 2 say dis but its a big lie, and u know dat. Danfodiyo gives u admission for ur qualification and hw on earth is it possible for 1 to revoke ur admission not on any ground, but jst because u re a non-muslim? Admissions can be withdrawn in UDUS and in other universities by following due processes not just by an individual. Ur accusations lacks merits and facts. And for ur friend 2 secure an admission jst by adding a muslim name 2 his name and wearing kaftan, I would say he has gone through a lot. I can imagine how he changed all d names on his certificates he used during registration including WAEC, birth cert, indigene letter and d rest. Bro say smthn convincing pls.

Last time ii checked, NYSC iis a paramilitary organization. (i.e an unofficial force, organized similarly to a military force) long hijab was probably banned because there iis an info bout terrorist bombing a camp dressed iin nysc uniform n hijab. These laws are for our own good. angry
undecided
Our constant romance with religion gave birth to all this unbelievable argument bout hijab. sad

infact there are churches iin Christianity that prohibits female from wearing trousers buh for 1year national service sake they slightly compromised

ii have seen soo many evil bin committed with hijab than good...

1 hijab iis used for suicide attacks
2 for expo iin exam hall
3 for hiding stolen goods at malls
4 for having s*x at night with guys
5 for impersonation
6 for smooching self n so on...

#MyCandidOpinion

Chai !!! grin just made me remember one lady in hijab who carried expo into the exam hall back in school. Also the girls who were used as suicide bombers wore hijab angry

Hijab, whether long a short is now being banned in countries like France and Nigeria will have to follow suite or create a Sharia country for the Muslims.
Hear the cleric say that passing information about banning of Hijab CAN TURN THE WHOLE COUNTRY INTO A TOTAL MESS. What else does he mean by this if not some kind of Jihad and killing of innocent civilians throughout the country.
The more terrorism continues the more the rest of the world starts taking a stand against the religion of peace that is spreading death and misery all over the world.

The Professor reminds me of the Pharisees in the good book who are so conscious of outward appearance and neglect the much needed internal qualities like love, kindness etc.
Its sad that no less a person than a Professor has such closed mindset. The Prof. should be reminded that the hood does not make the Monk.

These are not nuns but Arab Muslims. Their dressing in their "hijabs" to me looks moderate and OK.

It is positions like that make me wonder whether true to their utterances, terrorists are really backed up by Islam.

Majority of the terrorists have hidden under these garments-knowing the dignity previously associated with it-to kill innocent people like chickens!

The move to ban these garments is more of a security move and have nothing to do with culture!

Can we collectively support the call about not wearing these garments in NYSC camps, leaving religious and culture sentiments aside? If it happens in a camp today, God forbid, the same folks will be

"Oh God knows the best"

"Islam does not support terrorism-it is a religion of peace"

"Govt do something"

Yes Hijab should be allowed. Mary never left her head uncovered in anywhere in the bible.

I thought you wanted to say something before. Please do compare that of Mary dressing to the one placed above and rethink before you comments or make any further comparison of any kind. Ok?

what is objective about what u said, u avn't even made any point. And for ur info, we take passports with our hijab.
And how wld other regions creating their own dress guidelines going to be a problem to us? We av a right to dress according to our religion's guideline. The hijab is the Muslim woman's identity and a religious obligation. I don't know abt the Christians since most of them dress anyhow they deem fit.
If Christians are allowed to wear skirts (how many Christian ladies wld even support that, how many wear mainly skirts?), it is no headache of ours. We never claimed we even like the trousers in the 1st instance.
All I see is someone blinded by hate and hypocrisy for no reason. Why shld Muslim women always be oppressed while trying to practice their religion?
How does a Muslim woman wearing hijab affect ur life?

These jargons you posted shows how true you people believe in your book (bible). Anyway Jesus never came to destroy or abolish any law but to fulfill them. As stated here in:

Matthew 5:17-20English Standard Version (ESV)

Christ Came to Fulfill the Law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished .19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Your point please?
