Was at Royal College Interview today. The School structure is okay.
We wrote essay, Lesson note on our subject area, English, Mathematics, General paper,etc.
We later did Micro teaching, some of us were selected to wait for oral interview while others are ask to go and they will be contacted on phone, you all know what that really means, though my name was initially omitted, but when the the woman calling the name turned around and saw me among those people who are to leave, she said my name must be there cos I did very well in Micro teaching.
I sat in the front row during micro teaching , I was pepping through how the woman was rating us, a lot of us got 5,7,8, and 9. But she gave me 10.
We were the last group to be called for oral interview, at some minutes to 7pm.
They ask questions like what you think the school need to do so that people can know them, what we can do to make people know about the school, experience, etc.
We were later given a violet coloured paper to write the least salary we can take from them.
My Journey today all the way from Ogun Waterside down to Ibadan really wasted money, energy and time.
I later call a friend, so as to be able to sleep over in his place, he prepared me something , I ate and drink to my satisfaction.
I will be going back to waterside tomorrow morning.
My to and fro transport is around 5k plus.
Omo n wásé ó rise.

but if I had graduated with first class, my department in my university would have retained me without stress. There wouldn't have bin any need for me to be looking for teaching job in high schools..

We all seek for more. Stop feeling that graduating with first class would is the solution to better life. My school mate and friend graduated with second class lower and just yesterday ,he turned down a job offer of 210k.
So dear friend you can get to the top with determination, focus and prayer. and not compulsorily by first class.
Getting first class is good. i narrowly missed it too while in school as well but i didnt let that stop me. You would be suprised that some secondary schools can pay you as much as that your lecturer job may have paid. Schools like regent school abuja n the likes.

I need a teaching job around Abeokuta

My fellow teachers do not allow any Hr personnel to make you feel as if you are nothing, this one no be ability to bring/ win the interviewer over to your end.
Here is my experience:
I walked into to the interview room and ask if I could sit down, one of the interviewer responded in the affirmative only for me to sit and the other one asked where am from and I answered, from x state and hr started blabbing about how he knows my people and the way we have been threatening with our Niger delta struggle, hr went on to even ask the other interviewer that asked me to sit down to if indeed she asked me to sit, hr went on and on even up to my certificate........ If I was the Sunday that I used to be.... I would have been escorted out of the premises.........
Note: This is not about trying to win the interview rather it was a personal vendetta against the Nigerdelta..... The man was from the Oduduwa extraction.....
The annoying thing is, the questions asked was nailed only for about three qurstions and I watched his face......
As I type this am not happy but never let any hr personnel make you feel bad, my conclusion about the man is his not exposed and still being governed by culture.

I laff in swahili. Ijebu Schools? Na only 3 schls make sense for Ijebu-ODe. Catholic Schools, Adeola Odutola College Private and AGGS private... Others na erebente!!! I nor dey discourage anyone ooo. If you want to be owed salaries and be told to thank God that they r owing salaries, apply to any other schools. Maybe this reputable one can be sensitive to the plight of teachers sha.

No. You rent your own place. Accommodation can be easily secured a few meters away from the school. A room costs like N18k p.a. Lots of opportunity to make extra money through private home lessons for pupils and students.
