Freeglobe stop attacking people and prove him wrong word by word. He made a point that Calabar, PH and Kano have all left Enugu behind and that is the truthful point I got from him. Let us look at development State-wide and not a small space of land built on. I di aredn't see anything in Enugu state that makes it look better than others only that you too emotional.

[s][/s]
SMH..

Why is it cool for you people to hate on Enugu? Peter obi, the former governor of Anambra State ruled from Enugu for 8 years. When Peter obi was doing nothing in Anambra building substandard single lane roads, you were all praising him but now turn around to hate on a state that has made real substantial progress. We should be thanking God we can now even think of competing with Enugu because of what obiano currently is doing.

How has Calabar, PH and Kano left Enugu behind? Enugu is the third most financially stable state in Nigeria today ahead of those states you mentioned except PH. Is development in Rivers State State-Wide? Have you been to Buguma, Ogoni and other villages in Rivers State. Abeg park for one side... Hating on the achievement of Enugu can not change nothing.

Private Estates International West Africa is the developer of Enugu Lifestyle and Golf City, a world-class mixed use development located in the city of Enugu.

The city, also known as ‘Enugu Centenary City’, is designed to offer a lifestyle of luxury, serenity and security. Its infrastructure development and other related cost are put at about $300 million and the project is being executed through a public-private partnership between the Enugu State Government and Private Estates International. Significant progress has been made in infrastructure while several off takers have commenced construction of their building units.

The key features of the city includes cutting edge infrastructural facilities; state of the art electronic security system, water treatment plants, steady electricity supply, street lightings roads, drain and walkway, telecommunication facilities, wireless network, recreation park, hospital, nursery, primary, secondary school, shopping mall, Club House, 18-hole golf course, 9-hole golf course, 5-star hotel, security post and fire station.

Eze said Enugu Lifestyle and Golf City is the premiere lifestyle city in sub Saharan Africa. Covering about 1,097 hectares, the city is characterized by breathtaking vintage layout and a rare fine blend of functionality that impeccably connects living with sustainable grandeur. Located in independence layout phase 2 along Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, which is eight minutes’ drive from Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

The City is bordered by rivers and pockmarked by lakes and other water bodies. As with all modern cities around the world, Enugu Lifestyle & Golf City has a combination of residential, commercial and industrial developments.

“The residential development caters for a wide range of housing needs including entry-level, middle-income, executive, and super-exclusive homes. The community is located around an 18-hole golf course that winds itself around the entire stretch of the development. An additional, exclusive 9-hole golf course is located within the Presidential Park Estate and opens to only residents of this super-exclusive, ultra-secure community within a very secure Enugu Lifestyle & Golf City”.

“A 5-star clubhouse and hotel is planned to be the central meeting point for residents in the community. The hotel, to be managed by an international brand, would be located next to a lake and wrapped around the golf course. It will be built as a resort-getaway for business conferences and families desiring a vacation away from their busy daily lives.” Eze said.

He added that other amenities like schools, places of worship, sports facilities, and many others will be provided to make this a self-sustaining city. No other city in Nigeria is conceived in this nature.
While Enugu is busy developing one hater is here calling it an old city.. Nonsense.

You are not making any point, I am not hating on Enugu but I only challenged you over your attacks on people that do not agree with you. The previous person drew comparison based on State-wide with those states: Rivers, Cross-River and Kano. Is there anything that takes people to Enugu state even if it is to sleep with a wh.ore, we are not talking of economic importance now? Tell us how Enugu State is not lagging behind when compared to its contemporaries because new born states are not even dulling too. cool

Look at the starting comment of the OP and that will give the direction of the thread and what it hopes to achieve. If the OP meant well why didn't he go to the governor or ministry in charge and report whatever he has seen as a brother instead of coming here to expose the town to riddle and mockery?

Afam4eva:
I'm fascinated by cities and recently I have been on the road in the east. I have visited Enugu, Owerri and Aba briefly and u intend spreading my tentacles soon. I stayed longer in Owerri and the truth is, I never expected what I saw in Owerri. I was expecting it to be one of those normal towns. I really didn't expect the kind of city life it possesses. One thing that tickled my fancy is the fact that it has a high population of educated folks especially students.

As for Enugu, I didn't really spend much time but I've been there severally though yet to tour the nooks and crannies but based on the reviews, its probably the best rounded city in the SE.

I'm currently in Aba and honestly there's nothing to say about the city other than the fact that it's a rejected and dejected town. I can't even bring out my camera to take pictures because there's nothing to snap. i can't risk my camera getting spoiled by the horrible scenery. It's just pathetic. The town needs a renaissance. All the roads should be constructed from scratch by juliua Berger and roads should also be constructed into the inner streets. An attempt should also be made to beautify the city. As I'm talking to you, there is no beautiful part of Aba. Everywhere just seems rough and unkempt. God save Aba.

Now back to my topic, for those who are frequent visitor of Enugu, Owerri, Aba, Onitaha and Asaba and Uyo. How do these towns compare to each other. I asked a girl who has visited Asaba and she said Asaba is better than Owerri and I was shocked as I always saw Asaba as an upcoming city. I also read a statement somewhere that Uyo has a better infrastructure than the revered Enugu. How true is this? I'll like to compare and contrast the pros and cons of these towns.

This is the only major road to Nomeh town in Enugu State. And this is one of the many cases like this. Do you categorize this state as developed or window-dressing state? Be sincere can you see this sh1t anywhere in...is this not an insult to development? Let me not compare it with my state roads yet. cool

The starting comment of the OP gave rise to this from a Rivers guy. How would you feel if this were said of your state? Freeglobe read this in between the lines..

HopeAtHand:
Afam4Eva, you did the reasonable thing to leave out PH..u were careful not to upset me...i need to point out a lil about Aba.

Aba is an eyesore..dirty, smelly, godforsaken...They say a child is amongst others, influenced by his environment..that urban filth called Aba breeds children, who later grow into adults with skewed reasoning ability, miserable outlook to life and utter disregard for social values..there is practically nothing positive a child can gain from Aba as his environment.

Being born and bred in Aba where there is zero regard for sanity is the reason those riffraffs crossed the Imo river into PH to protest Nnamdi Kanus arrest like Nnamdi Kanu was held in PH..those unambidextrous idiiots from Aba are a reflection of the failed Igbo value system ..a system that is careless, carefree, where anything goes.

Aba and its inhabitants should be bombed to the ground as a lesson to filthyness of an environment that infects the psyche and the mind.

^^I am a very strong person spiritually but this got me down since morning because I felt so bad. I warned about this thread since it was opened and now see it..

But sincerely speaking there is nothing in Enugu state that moves anyone to the state? But at least many have reasons to go to all those other cities including Aba the op tried to run down. And this applies to many too. Like someone said enugu state is just 8% developed while 97% is still timid and backward with no roads nor health facility unlike Anambra that is over 92% developed with roads connecting every community. That is development and that is how to like a place.

Anambra is still a village when compared to Enugu. That is why 60% of Anambra rich men Live in Enugu. From Soludo to Uba family. There is nothing that moves anyone to the State yet they are the 4th richest state in IGR despite having no oil. You are just sounding like an uneducated trader. Enugu has far more Infrastructure than Anambra. placing Enugu development with Anambra is an insult to Enugu. Enugu is only in the status If Abuja and Lagos.
