You go ban tire na. So what happens to freedom of expression and beliefs? So Yorubas are free to aspire and promote their Odua beliefs and Hausas, Arewa but Igbos of course are to be banned to talk or aspire for their beliefs in Biafra. Highly disappointed in you Seun.

What stops you from coming up with a superior argument why they should remain in Nigeria? Why are you so scared to discuss Biafra? Must we all have the same line of thoughts or intellectual discourse? I reject being or tagged a zombie where a fellow man will dictate what I discuss.
You v a great problem!

Touching but irrational.

U are promoting Buhari anti-social media bill.

Limiting free media, speech, information and right to association/determination.

That is highly unethical. Soonest u shall learn that, u cannot kill an idea.

Even the fg said biafra struggle is legitimate

In the words of John F. Kennedy, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

When people cannot expres themselves verbally, it is a crime to talk or protest, no wonder we have Boko haram.

Soon we will be begging IPOB, like Boko Haramm to come for talks, i just pray they listen, no country survives two civil wars.

I am a Yoruba, indifferent about Biafra, but I do not think seun got this right. The beauty of nairaland is freedom of expression. There could be some measures that could be applied to curb abuse not through this means.

@Seun

Let me add that you should have employed a PR specialist to advice you on this. Your tittle should appear neutral even if you had something else in mind.

It shouldn't have been addressed to any specific tribe or group. It should have simply said,

Dear Nairalanders,

Nairaland is devoted to promoting Nigeria as a single indivisible entity. As such we do not subscribe to being used to promote any secessionist theory or goal.

To this end all posts that promote division or session in whatever form will no longer be allowed on Nairaland, as it goes against our values. This new rule will therefore affect all calls for Biafra, Oodua Republic, Niger Delta Republic, Arewa Republic etc

Violation of this new rule will attract an automatic ban.

Thank you for understanding and I hope your stay on Nairaland continues to be fun, engaging and insightful.

God Bless Nairaland, God Bless Nigeria.

Wishing the best of the Season and a wonderful 2016.

Seun

Don't waste your intellect jourgh!
If only he get sense..

Before now some people fit dey think say this SEUN boy go get sense die, including me....
But he is so naive to sell his inconsequentiality and his stupidittty away so easily.

The guy no get sense at all.

He is been deceived by the poor condition of some his Yoruba brothers around him, so he forgot that people have already moved on beyond what he sees around him.

Kai! This guy is is a brain dead mofu...

oh yes I do. purposely.

let's look at it this way. if Nairaland were to be a household family and Seun was the daddy, what would you say about his parenting abilities, seeing Nairalanders running amok on this forum with pure hatred for each other.

politics section should be for us to discuss salient national issues that should promote the unity of the country not divide it and not to be distracted by secessionists.

it is called Nairaland for a reason.

if secessionists want a forum to vent their anger, they should go to radio biafra on Facebook or even open their own forum.

I love Igbos, hausas, and every other tribe in Nigeria.

it doesn't mean the Igbos can't or shouldn't aspire to secede, But they can go elsewhere and promote that, not on NAIRAland.
. Bro. Are you. aware that the buhari want to islamize nigeria,?why did nigerian govt closed warri seaport which close for us as major importers? The one that pained me most,is while still. Coming. Back from lagos customschecking point is upto 20 ,they keep extorting money from us, that one is still nt enough for buharia ,he. Want us to go and clear. Goods in the north broo. I am highly dissappointed in seun.
I expect you to have a sound team of advisers who will go through whatever you will bring to the public domain since you run a "business" with "customers" from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Must you mention Biafra? Any other group or region can come up tomorrow and start agitating for succesion and this your rule wil not apply so long as they do not have Biafra in their nomenclature.
Please grow up.

Sinizia na u write this thing? WoW!
sinizia:
Much ado about nothing from both the Igbo commenters on NL.

The truth is, the inherent hate, bigotry and the glaring attempt at gagging the Igbos on this forum by Seun with this thread means nothing and will amount to nothing.

Before Seun or NL was born, Biafra has been in existence and will continue to be in existence, no matter the act of hate by anybody. The Igbo commenters on this thread disappointed me with their agitation at Seun's bigotry coz for us the old members, we all know there's no freedom of speech on NL from the mods to the owner. Seun runs this place like a dictator since 2012 when I was a guest so this draconian rule didn't surprise me.

NL can't kill the messengers nor the message, it can only limit it to NL only, there hundreds of dailies carrying the Biafra news and that allow people to speak their minds without fear of a ban, so why the tantrums from the Igbo NLers? Biafra will come to pass no matter the hate, it might take years, but it'll come to fruition. It's a matter of when not how.

I was born a Biafran and will die one, so a rule on NL changes nothing for me or the millions of Igbos out there in the real world pursuing this movement. So y'all quit the bytching and allow Seun to make his rules as he deems fit, it changes nothing about the Biafrans!!

i am sure if other groups choose nairaland as their tool for secession seun will be happy to accomodate them because they will be courteous and will only talk about their agenda. you biafrans spend 99 percent of the time abusing everybody and only 1 percent of the time discussion your agenda. any sane human being with a brain will ban any biafran agenda from their forum. you have no sane agenda. your agenda consists of shouting yoloba and zoo and mumu-hari etc. thats your agenda. tell me why any sane person should not ban biafran agenda ?

Mr. Seun received one of two things that made him to not only speak against Biafra, but also to included a rule against any that want to do so.

He either received a threat from the no nonsense government agents or he was paid off.

Considering how stingy The Change government is, I believe seun is afraid of the military hand of the law as threat is the only thing that can make him to make this move after many years of discuss of biafra.

I am a proud Nigerian from the south eastern part. I hope no one get offended by me.
