Seun, I have so much to say to you, but there is no point because you won't read it.

Under your watch Nairaland has been denigrated to a site that promotes sickening tribalism, an entire race is continually insulted and denigrated because of actions and beliefs of less than 20% of the people and you and your mods watch and promote these actions simply because they are not against your people

I hope this rule means that any threads that speak ill of Biafra must not be created as well, in fact, there should be no mention of Biafra or Igbo at all here, I hope it will also work unlike the useless rule on tribes that has failed horribly.

You are a black man and true to your nature, you will always return to your caveman tactics of muzzling any ideas you don't believe in rather than trying to understand them, the black man's nature will always be his downfall

I have spoken my mind for the last time here, henceforth, I will refrain from posting on any threads outside Literature section pending when I can move my stories.

Thank you for the platform given to me here to meet awesome people like TheSupernerd, Icon4s, joseph1013 thegoodjoe, jeffreyjamez, ethereal, twaci, iamkingzlee, cfcman, blueto, ishilove, uzolexis, airmark and many more great Nigerians..... if nothing else, I can attribute a lot of learning and the opportunity to meet these people to NL.

Best of luck with this site, I hope it lives up to your dreams even if it has disappointed many

Nwanne,I understand how u feel.pls take it easy. I felt dissappointed too when I saw this thread. We know hu we are as an ethnic group, a race and as a people. No matter any attempt to quench any agitation we remain hu we are nt even seun and his modes can stop it.Bc of d bad blooded tribalism in politics section I stopped visiting d section and found more solace in d sports section.

It is well.

making sense, rather than an outright ban, Seun should have told his Mods to be up and doing!!! as another poster analysed it, The Gas has leaking into the room for a long time.

Ethnic mud slinging, personal attacks, space booking, just passing tru...the list goes on.

on this thread alone the number of posters who have directed insults at seun and his ethnic heritage is astounding!!! Just because he made a descision on HIS site that they don't like/agree with!
I would respect them soo much more if they would state a counter opinion in a concise and articulate manner but after 30 plus pages what do we see? threats, personal attacks & ethnic mudslinging reigns supreme * sigh *

This is not about being a 'yoloba' guy or a 'Biafra', this is about being able to discuss issues and making our case with relevant points and facts in a RESPECTFUL manner.

Shalom.

alright Mr Seun (my namesake) and Mr mynd44, just auto activate the ban button on my account cos you go ban me tire.
Though it's your site, but it's in the public domain, what happened to public corporations? lol.....
I think you acted wise by half in your blanket ban on discussion of biafra,.even the topic smirks of dictatorial tendencies (did you also collect Lai Mohammed's cash gifts to bloggers!? you act like you did). Nairaland doesn't reject Biafra, it's you who rejects biafra. NL isn't a one man show, it's a community, and so it's decisions cannot be reflected by one man's silly impositions.
I'm not from the east but I support the Biafra cause and struggle, just like any one with a conscience.
yes, let the ban start now.........
ps: Mr mynd44, don't hide my post, if you can't deal with its contents then go ahead and ban me totally. BIAFRA WILL COME..... PEACEFULLY.

Nice one Seun every topic promoting tribal e-wars and bigotry should be taken down. I am IBO and really hate the way a few misguided youths go about spreading bile and hate on this forum. Its insulting to our sensibilities as Nigerians. If people want their voices to be heard there are more sane ways of going about it than what is playing out now. Let this change in government bring about change in the hearts and behaviour of the Nigerian. Let us be patriotic to our country. Let there be equity and justice from north to south, from east to west and all these agitations will fizzle out. The IPOB saga gained steam when the easterners felt they were being secluded in the appointments being made. Then statements like 5% and 95% were being bandied around. After elections the government has a duty to carry everyone along irrespective of your political affiliation. Baba needs to tour every state in Nigeria like Obasanjo did. Show every Nigerian you are their President

You're an outcast , not an Igbo.

from what you wrote up there you aren't convincing me or anyone that Buhari is trying to islamize Nigeria.

stop being paranoid. when he was a military man with a Muslim vice, he didn't islamize the nation, why do u think he will do that under a Democratic dispensation. doesn't make logical sense to me.

Seun, you are a big fool for having the promotion of Biafra in the same category with those other vices you listed. Are you for real. Why disrespect the dreams and aspirations of others in such manner? OPC has been advocating for Oduduwa state and you have never found it necessary to ban it's promotion on this your piece of junk, NL, talk less of listing it together with known societal vices. I take a very strong exception to your post. It was very unnecessary and childish. U better retrace your step, and don't insult a whole tribe.

he does not need any superior argument. with the way biafrans have displayed and conducted and presented themself on the forum since the whole biafran agitation fiasco I think the proof is in the pudding. no superior arguments needed whatsoever when the defendant has practically hanged themself. let me tell you, if you are good at reading between the lines you will see that he is simply telling biafrans to fork off but he is putting it in the most diplomatic and sweetest way possible lmao. like who says ' i love igbos so much and dont want to see them leave nigeria so therefore no more talk of biafra on this forum lol ' ? read between the line. your peoples agenda only consist of abusing other tribes. you dont need a superior argument to tell someone like that to fc-uk off, do you ?

You're not agreeing simply because the owner says so, no! You're agreeing because you think so. Seems you're gradually changing your opinion now, but your initial point, to which I commented, says everything you think about this whole issue.
I never cared about the biafra movement until it started to seem like it was a do or die affair. Then, I inwardly wished it would happen. Everyday, we see numerous threads on this matter, people trying to force their opinions down the throats of others, we see insults being hurled left, right and center. But it hasn't changed anything. Pro-biafrans are still pro-biafrans, those against it are still against it and nothing has happened. Now Seun has come forward to say that Nairaland is a Nigerian site, and the promotion of secessionist movements do not align with its mission and vision. Then some people started talking about filing lawsuits, freedom of speech, him not having the right to make such rules, etc.
It was on this basis that i made my original post.

I'm not changing my opinion, I still want them to have their wish but as the owner of the site has said he doesn't want the promotion of secessionist movements here, then so be it.

I think Seun was even considerate enough to put it out there. He could have as well secretly instructed his super-mods to delete every thread promoting the movement. That would have been worse as people would type lengthy posts only for it to be deleted.
Other sites like BN won't even tell you anything. They just filter topics and even comments, posting only the ones that meet their 'standard'. And there's nothing anyone can do about it. Freedom of speech isn't exactly something you demand on someone else's site
