Surely not everybody who attends this school is using stolen money. Many of these parents (and I'm sure we all know someone whose child attends these schools) are hardworking honest people who simply want the best for their kids.
not all

This really just confirms that there is so much money in Nigeria,
they monies go to owners of the names to thier countries( pay to keep the name America so that cash will flow).A Nigerian wash.

and I have to find a good way to make some, while providing opportunities for Nigerian youths. God bless my hustle cool

good thinking

so this secondary sch. student they fit work as bankers etc after graduating no wander Bill gate got it all when he drop out of sch.

It's these secondary school students that go on to University and rub shoulders with the children of elites in the UK and US. When these folks graduate and go to work, start business, or explore opportunities, it's these networks that they tap. It is a sad fact that poor people in UK, US, or Nigeria don't have the connections to do the things that employ thousands of people. If you wanted to tap a network of investors for equity or loan, guess which Rolodex you're going to use?

Bill Gates is ONE kid that dropped out of college. There are millions of wealthy American elites/business leaders who did not drop out. The focus on Bill Gates is like saying "since one person won the lottery, you too don't have to study hard, or work or start a business. Just relax, and you too can win the lottery". Obviously not very useful advice, so why keep trotting it out?

Bill was able to assemble investment money, business contacts, legal advice, technical assistance, sales channels etc from people who didn't drop out. Even Bill went to expensive/privileged primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions.

If not for the fact that he had access to a computer in primary school (you had to be extremely privileged to see and use a computer in early 1970s), his fortunes might have been quite different.

Well as for me, is not abt erecting fantastic buildings or paying high school fees dat matters in d education of a child, it is abt d knowledge d child is able to bring out from d four walls of d school.

The statistics shows over d years dat children of public schools ar more sharp and knowledge able dan all dis big big schools mentioned.

Most of dem ar Jst being pushed on trial basis, dey never repeat class, even wen is glaring dat d child is a dullard, else d parents will not hesitate to withdraw dia kids.

If only our leaders can bring bk d good standard of public schools to d good old days, most of dis private schools ar rouges, reaping off ppl of dia money.

It's not about the school fees. What matters is the brain. If u like, spend the money stolen from the arms deal on any dull child, it won't change anythin.

With such huge amount been paid as school fees, why won't our leaders steal from the nation?
When there's compettition amongs theirselves.

If we must fight corruption successfully in this country, pmb should clamp down on these schools. The father of these children are thieves no apology.

99.9 of children in this schools are children of our stealing politicians and friends who helps them to ferry the money abroad. Pen rubbers.

most of them don't write waec; they write Cambridge A levels or American GCSE since they would leave the country for Europe or North America to complete post secondary education.

That's on the assumption they are trying to raise future governors. Politics in Nigeria has nothing to do with intellect or ability but everything to do with connections, allying with corrupt people and being ready and willing to play the game and grease elbows as you move up.

I'm sure such schools would rather aim to raise future corporate titans and leaders both home and abroad rather than governors who will taint their name and image when accused of corruption.

It's funny we keep saying "in the midst of so much poverty..." I think we should start seeing the other side: "there are plenty of well-to-do Nigerians".

Very funny indeed... Whats the proportion of well-to-do Nigerians to those homeless Nigerians?

Have you seen all the new construction, cars mobile phones, hotels, electronic gadgets all over Nigeria. That's not being done by homeless people who subsist on $2 a day.

Funny enough, he(Bill Gates) went to Havard University. There's absolutely nothing wrong with sending your child to the best secondary school and utmostly best University. Bill Gates father was a prominent lawyer and he was raised in a privileged home.

Although my younger sister doesn't go to any schools (she goes to a school I would term mid-level), it's still my wish she goes to any Anglo American Ivy league college/University.

Like a Nairalander pointed, when you move up the ladder, the money wouldn't be the problem-quality would be key. Instead of envy or developing jealousy, work hard and smart to enable your wards go to schools of these nature. There's money to be made in Nigeria, and certainly they're Nigerians who make it legitimately.

No. They don't have plans to attend any Nigerian university, whether public or private. They take foreign exams and gain admission to schools in Britain and North America. The only Nigerian school you may likely meet them is the Nigerian Law School after graduation from foreign schools.

I gree such facilities provide them every opportunity to explore needful knowledge and acquaintance how Eva necessary. I love and pray to acquire wealth that can make me afford the luxury of putting my child into any of these walls to keep him sharper if need be,but I certainly will wish such child to relate good into his society to understand the needful for as it is not all that works in Temperate society can be apply in this Tropical one,
mayb still as busy and kind it feels to fit into fast developing nation will not be at the detriment of ours or still as an expect if attained of transformation;knowing that bringing into us some advancement my just be to us as monarchy b4 we become ready to put them to use eg bringing in electronic trains etc b4 we are able to generate mega powers electric to use them on our nomadic flowing rails.
Believe me am not against this exotic idea but did they teach our mentally in the minute required percent that is needful? such as understand ourself, society, believe and others necessity to begin with.
I am only advocating that Nigerians can equate the derive of knowledge in a priceless generality to facilitate our needed steps and attachments not by adoption and borrowing others and so loosing the vital fundamentals.
In other words let's forget the American dreams and find our route if China didn't at a time they won't be competing USA as the leading economy, if not we shall still have more Ajekuta stèel rolling Mill lying fallow.
I pick those from my street sch experienc you disregard anyway.

Guy politicians are not the only rich people in dis country, my sister has 6 children, 2 (now in Georgia State University) passed out from Olashore at Iloko Ijesha ( fee is roughly 600k per term )and two are still presently there, she and her husband are business people and not politician. There are atleast 8 children in my street (Bodija Ibadan) who are schooling in Olashore and none of their parents is a politician. Some people are legitimately rich in dis country. Btw Olashore should be there
Yes I agree. Olashore should be there. I also know a couple with a kid in Olashore. They are not politicians or business people but work in reputable organisations. They stopped at 2kids though.
