[size=13pt]Igbos should respect themselves and not portray themselves as needing to be associated with any people to survive.

If the northerners suddenly start affirming that they are (and have always been) brothers with Igbos, how will they feel?

The Hausas...

1) Speaking a different language

3) Having different customs and values

4) Having killed lots of Igbos in the north in the past

In the same way it is not expected of Igbos to disrespect themselves this way wanting to be present day "brothers" with the south-south by pretending we have ever come from the same house.

1) Igbos speak a different language

2) Igbos have different values (like the money-at-all-cost mentality) and a decidedly different reasoning system

3) We don't have any similar ancestry

4) The derogatory name for the people of the SS is even mbamiri just as they call yorubas ofe mmanu. In fact, the name ofe mmanu was coined probably way into colonisation last century. Meanwhile, mbamiri must have been used to refer to the south-south and its people many generations down the line.

With this kind of behaviour the Igbo man has remained largely a diplomatic liability to himself.

Diplomatic actions of today create diplomatic (i.e political) rewards tomorrow.

How far into the future does the Igbo man want to store up minuses for his political fortunes by his self-destructive actions of today?

MR MAN THE IGBOS WILL FIGHT AND PROTECT IGBOS IN THE SS. FIGHT AND PROTECT YOUR TRIBE. IF YOU ASKING IGBOS TO FOREVER ACCEPT THE FULANI BALKANIZATION OF IGBO BY SPLITTING IT INTO SE AND SS. THEN YOU NEED TO QUIT DRINKING THAT TOMBO LIQUOR. CHANGE IS CONSTANT, YOU CAN'T ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

I have noticed that most people who have been opening different threads concerning this SS issues are from those tribes..you are an urohobo man bro and I wonder if you won't survive on your own without attaching your self with the aniomas in delta state or the efiks and ibibios of akwaibom and cross rivers.

Quite shameful that some deluded SS bigots think that we the SE Igbos would allow them "diktat" to us the basis of our relationship with the SS Igbos.
We're patient...and together with the other big two would make sure that the phantom SS is drained to the past drop of its oil.when that's done,we'd detach all Igboid territories from the SS so that we'd not have any reason to attach again to lazy folks.
Anioma state would soon be a reality...and those areas like oyigbo, egbema and abi that were stolen from the old East central state would be returned. But till all these happens,we'd keep attaching...even if its by force! angry

meaningless rants....... Last I checked the SS is the most sustainable region in Nigeria and every state can form an individual country and do very well on its own. Is it by force to go with y'all? we rejected you lots in 1967 and we'll do it times over. In the SS nobody lays claims to anybody, we give each other due respect- something you lots lack.

Our different ethnic leaders have said it all. The efik, urhobo, ijaw, kalabari, ikwerre leaders have said it. Keep living in denial until 1967 repeats itself.

If you're too rattled on the valid points made on your 'special' Yorubas, go and meet Sanusi Lamido Sanusi that published that paper some years ago without a befitting rejoinder from your elites.

What an "ijaw" told an Ndoki man:
"A special class of Ijaws were created. As an Ndoki man I was always told that I am 'Ijaw' in Ibo land. With the Amnesty program I was no longer 'Ijaw'. I remember having a conversation with a former President of Ijaw National Congress. He debunked my 'Ijaw' heritage by telling me that I was more Ibo. He explained that for political purposes he could accept me as Ijaw but ‘in the economic sense you are not Ijaw.’ I retorted that I am proud to be Ibo."

"The vice-presidency slot given to the South-South minorities won't go to an Igbo man (Peter Odili from Rivers State)"  - Edwin Clark.  And he spoke the minds of majority Ijaws as none opposed the biased and discriminatory views against other Niger-deltans.
