A private is a soldier without a rank. Then don't wear any pip (that thing on the shoulder of their uniform, where the rank is indicated)

Now, a private is a rank, but it's the least rank in the Non-Commissioned Officer cadre, and equally the least in the entire army. When they are on training, they are recruits, immediately they passout, they become privates and ascend in that order.

If not of boko haram and the nigerdelta militancy, these people are like ministry workers, they are always idle not doing anything in the office. Some dont even have.

Thats an ernormous improvent because back in In 2006 when I was with them, a Private earns 11,600 naira. While a 2nd Lieutenant earns about 45,000 naira.
