Story about a Corper who was posted to Abia. When I saw the State in my call up letter my heart literally melted courtesy of previous stories. Strangely camp was interesting especially the "Ochendo Boys"....lol.
After 3 weeks in camp I was posted to an Autonomous Community. When I got to the PPA, I just didn't want to go in because of the school's condition.
Few months I fell in love with the students in the school even with no reason especially with their poor academic performance. I decided to think of a way out on how to help them. Then I came up with a "Base Word Spelling Challenge ".
After much preparation the challenge went on with so much excitement from amongst the students, prizes were given  (one term scholarship,  school bags, books and pen).

To begin with, I would like to thank GOD for a successful first edition of the spelling challenge and many more bigger ones to come.

Yesterday we held the finale of the first edition which was for JSS 3 and SS 1. After an intensive battle of brains, Uzoma and Chinemerem came out tops. Find pictures below.

Meanwhile, I have great news, the challenge is now spreading across Abia State. Another secondary school has agreed to host an edition for students. Our target is to organise the challenge in seven different schools across the state before POP.

@Seun @Lalasticlala We need feedback from people on how to make it bigger, brighter, and better. Kindly assist to move it to front page. We need to give it the attention it deserves. Thanks for your usual assistance.

Dont be carried away and make sure you do as you have promised. Many Corpers made the same promise like you do before NYSC but they ended up not fulfilling their promises.Your fellow corp member will discourage you but hold unto your promises if you are really determined and not just for saying sake.i wish you a prosperous service year.

Weldon Corper. I did almost same but inter-sch debate. I spent countless nights cracking my brain for points, developing them and teaching the girls how to address a crowd and finally, a week to go, Hajiya Asma'u the sch principal said muslim girls are not permitted to mix with their male counterpart. Ahhh, I dropped everything and went back to my hot abode...far far North.
