Carry out a blind man's test.. It implies cook same food using same heat..same ingredients...same time ...one with salt and the other with salt and seasoning....serve it in two separate labelled bowls A&B ...blindfold fifty persons and ask them to taste...you can interchange the bowl to serve from first repeatedly... Let them tell u which is tastier....

Personally I recommend making your own stock from boiled meat AND BONES and storing (if you have light) that way you are not taking funny chemicals

Onion, garlic, ginger and iru (locust beans) are good enough for seasoning

try cooking party rice without seasoning and watch ur guest curse ur generation for a tasteless food.though I lyk d idea of cooking without seasoning but if d quantity of food am cooking is much won't even attempt it

Stop embarrassing yourself by calling it 'maggi' its quite annoying. Be informed!

Salt alone doesn't give you the perfect taste... If you don't like seasonings (knorr, maggi, royco etc) you can alternate with salt and CRAYFISH. That's what people in the village that dont use seasonings use.

The best alternative to seasonings for food are white crayfish and locust bean. I have been cooking for more than 10 years without all these poisonous seasonings and if you taste my food it is difficult to know if it contains seasoning or not.
Also, for men who wants to always have strong erection and lasting pleasure, please stay away from seasonings as much as you can. Though, I have little control over food I eat outside my house, therefore, I limit and control how I eat outside to avoid too much consumption of these silent killers.

no time jare,my style of cooking rice b like,wake up @ 3:30am,put rice inside water and add all the ingredient knwn if e no dey it will be excluded,light ma stove put the pot on fire and go back to sleep till I percieve the smell of burning food.the rest is history.

thank God someone opened this thread... I've been saying it and will continue to say it...cooking with MSG (seasoning) is not only unhealthy but a culinary crime... I have been cooking for the past 4 years without seasoning...all you need to do is develop flavours and it's not rocket science to develop flavours without seasonings...

I'd advice you watch this show called Cutthroat kitchen...you'd learn how to cook better without msg...SAY NO TO MAGGI

oga OP, just because you were trained to cook by granny doesn't mean we all have to follow suit. take your time to prepare a nice jollof or fried rice in two places, one with Maggi and one as an exception... even the flavour from the rich meal consisting maggi and other ingredients is enough to bring everyone to the dinning compared to the other. village boy
