[quaote author=Nnaabros post=44287660]The concept of the movie is nice. They just need to do something more original and unique, not a Hollywood imitation. And improve on the effects to make it look more real

NICE CONCEPT? u know d so-called concept was stolen right 4rm d costume down to the name...what's so nice abt a borrowed/stolen concept?cry
I meant the concept of an African Nigerian Nollywood super hero. Something more original and unique to Nigeria and Africa, not a Hollywood imitation.

This is what you get when you produce a Hollywood movie on a Nollywood budget. When i first saw the poster i thought it was a joke, not until I stumbled on this movie review by two foreign tabloids, UNILAD and Uk Metro.

While reading the review, i was stuck between cringing and laughing...I opted for laughter and i haven't stopped since

Read the rib cracking review below:

Comic fans around the world are waiting with bated breathe to see what Tom Holland’s performance as Spider-Man is going to be like – but the poor guy may have been outshone before he’s even webbed up his first bad guy.

Meet 'Spider-Girl', a gender bent, copyright infringing adaptation of everyone’s favourite wall-crawler straight from Nigeria’s version of Hollywood, Nollywood.

As I’m sure you can tell from the trailer Spider-Girl's more than capable of going up against Marvel’s heavy hitters, swinging (or flying it’s hard to tell) through the jungle and battling criminals with her magical ability to produce cartoon string, or webs, again it’s hard to tell.

Hollywood there is God ohhhhhhhhhh.
The painful thing about it is that the title of their movies is so stupid

What is ( Mr ibu dance skelewu)

Thank God Davido rejected the offer of being part of the movie
It would have been the end of his music career.

Some producers and directors don't just want to think outside the box, why waste money on such project ?

Please that thinking is not inside the box at all. It's so alarming far from any box I know that's within civilization.

Why won't they mock us..

When stupid producers can't think of something meaningful to act always recycling things!!

Not directed at you personally, but at us Nigerians who never see the good:

Shame on you all for mocking Nollywood. Go and watch American special effects from 50s, 60s, 70s and even 80s and see how bad they were.

Our film industry is young, nascent, operating with a little budget. And all you can do is mock it constantly. It's just the same way we mock our Aba made things.

Instead of supporting Nigeria with heart and might, we always mock our country. We should be proud of what we have, support it, acknowledge that it can be better, and encourage it to be better.

We rather take the easy route and mock ourselves, supporting other people who have had their own struggles before us. Smh

All I can say is: "at first they laugh, then they fight, then you win..."

Support our industries unflinchingly. Like you would support your clumsy child, because you know that it is only with your support guidance and love that this clumsy child will become a graceful and powerful adult.

Recognition first starts with mockery,
Then it happens that the ridiculous startup has some insight the mainstream never dreamt of- so then comes the wow factor, and we all troop to follow and trend.

Remember when we mocked Japanese cars- they were too light, poor mans car. Today who wouldn't like a Toyota

Bottom line, any publicity is good publicity
Copying- is a the only way to catch up with West, sorry now Eadt for we African
