I dont know why we waste money on advertising tourism cuz I am still yet to see anyone come to Nigeria just for that sole purpose. We should just maintain these kind of places for history, historical/archaeological studies

There's no facility for tourism. The lackadaisical government approach to development and the unruly behaviour of an average Nigerian are also very big deterrents to the development of tourism in Nigeria.

Imagine being surrounded by beggars everywhere on a purported touristic complex. Dirt and defecation is all around the corner. Despite all the negative experience, the Olumo rock complex is definitely worth a visit. I'd recommend a guided tour.

Because She is a protector of Ancient history and science. In every tribe across Africa, you would find Sages just like that. Their coming out signifies the changes that is about to take place universally.

Before I became a Witness, I remember going to Synagogue Church and seeing Pastor Chris Oyakhilome there preforming "miracles"

I told my cousin who is a pastor and kept mum but later he and his wife discussed and said I probably don't know how Oyakhilome looks.

He was however dumbfounded when it was all exposed on TV and there was pandemonium in Pentecostalism.

My friend, pastors dey vist Babalawo wella! Better believe!

She is 131 or claims to be?

It's all bunch of lies.
She said she grew up under the rock during the war. Very well.

War was between 1967 and 1970.

2016 minus 1970 is 46 years...

131 years minus 46 years is 85 years.
It means this old woman was 85 years during the war.

Now tell me, who still grows up at 85 years.

Look Buhari well, and see the example of 75 years, then add 10 years to it and see if this woman wasn't the chief of all lairs. That's if she actually said that.

I believe that age was made up by bragging braggers who never think about developing themselves but lying their way to the top.

Good friend, it's not about who I am. grin

I'm just trying to say that if you see her real life you will agree that she's not way off from the age ascribed.

It's my opinion and it's understandable for you not to agree.

So can you please remind me who you are too?

Ignorant tourist guides at Olumo Rock including these old self-made historians will forever continue to deceive tourists with their made up history of Egba people and the rock. I am always astonished that these lies about Egba people hiding in "caves" under the rock continue to captivate tourists. How many people could the said caves have provided safety for? What war exactly was waged by the Egbas after the founding of Abeokuta in 1830 that the new settlers had to hide under the rock?
The Olumo Rock truly holds a special place in the history of Abeokuta and its founders, the Egba people. It is the symbol of their rest after surviving many civil wars waged among different Yoruba tribes and clans. The rock is at the center of the historic settlement of the town after fleeing the Egba Forest and other places.
However, it was never a hiding place for a people numbering thousands on their arrival and settlement of the surrounding land.
Abeokuta, the "new" city of the Egbas has a rich history that I cannot possibly do justice to here. It is true that the rock has been more or less deified. It is equally true that there are worshippers of several traditional deities at Olumo. They may be regarded as the custodians of their religion, but they are no historians. They do not also live in or under the rock. They are indigines living in the neighborhood of the rock. And most of what they tell you about the historic rock and city of Abeokuta is nothing short of concocted myths and fantasies of their imagination.

Im sure she doesn't know her actual age, maybe she calculated it with the witness of 3 coronations of Egbaland obas. I was there last year and i saw her.
Olumo was no fun since the introduction of elevator/ lift and those stairs, on like when olumo was olumo you have to climb those rocks which was more fun than just to sit ur ass on the elevator/ lift.

Government don turn am to dem IGR avenue
