I guess this is your first delay (or if second maybe a different app route from first). It has become obvious with the volume of app from Nigeria, many of the applications are not properly assessed. Case files can be used as legal evidence (not for TRV) and you can imagine the grammatical error most of them carry-indeed most assessment are done in a haste. On the the details of yours, they acknowledged that you're married. The "no record" is for the Foss check (previous refusal). PURPOSE is a big deal for all TRVs. For students, these VOs don't care if they return or not cos they know that 90% of applicants may not return. I once chatted with a VO in church and she said to me, the first thing they verify is PURPOSE, the rest is icing on the cake. I suggest you go for a prog that clearly relates to your current line of business cos one that relates to your previous educational background may not pass the test. Except by chance, submitting the same facts even with a better SOP may not give a positive result. SOP is just for matters that are not quite clear. I know a number of students who got their visas without SOP.

Thanks for your response. This is my first delay and the evidence (marriage certificate) was included in my application. The VO must has missed it. I had a job I was was pursuing last year which just clicked and I started in January. It's in the project Management field though still awaiting a response regarding a study leave since I just started. Hope this can help with the PURPOSE a bit and I can give further explanations in my SOP.

Which of the visas are you applying for ? Visit, Work or Study ? It's only then one can advise on what documents you'd need to include for application. You'd need more letters for Work permit that you would for study.

1,000 per month? That is really terrible . . . Thank you so much for the information.

This monthly limit just messed me up today as I was trying to pay my graduate deposit. A platinum MasterCard or Dollar MasterCard wouldn't pose these issues.

OK.
Are you currently working ?
Could you get a study leave letter indicating that your company is OK with you leaving for the period of your studies ?
Do you still have your job offer letter ?
A reference letter, maybe?
Pay stubs/Bank statement showing the monthly income from work ?
And introduction letter too from your work place also indicating the period of time you've been working with them and how OK are they with you pursuing further studies. It wouldn't hurt from them to hype a bit about the kind of asset you'd be to the company upon acquiring whatever qualifications you've applied for.

I really was hoping to be able to use it too for business but i guess i might have to either register with more banks and be able to do much more.

I have also received the scholarship award letter . I am eagerly awaiting my admission letter from them in order to begin the visa application process... But what am scared of is all d rejection I have been reading here on nairaland.. Lol.... Please, any advice on the visa application would be highly appreciated.. Especially the SOP and ties with Canada and Nigeria.... Biko oooo.....

MEEHAR forget all the refusal you hear over here its just a fraction compared to when you visit VFS and see successful applicants. Just fire and God takes Control. Besides your academic standing seems nice.

Hey Nadia94 good to know you are applying to those schools as well. I guess they're tough schools n that's y nobody's applying there. Anyways which program are you going for and did you receive any funding from queens. Mine it's MSc Chemical Engineering in both schools.
Yes they are quite tough.
Settled for the Masters of Engineering in Electrical and computer Engineering. Going thru the internship path too. So i got accepted into Queens. While i didnt submit ma app for Mcmaster. I didnt receive any funding from queens cos my propsed course is not an MSc but an MEng.

Congratulations!!!
In your SOP a brief introduction of urself, why u want to study that course reason why you selected Canada as ur destination for study and why do you want to get a PhD, don't give vague reasons.

For d ties in Nigeria show a strong proof that you will return after you PhD even though u won't, proof like family in Nigeria (wife and children), a job(where ur employee grant u a leave of study to return to ur job on completion), a social or political position that will make u come back.

Thanks for the advice bro.. Under family ties in Nigeria, can being a son of a king do the trick... Just wondering if that would be enough to convince them... Thanks....
