If they like, they should make it OPEN YEAR. I will not buy DSTV till they introduce pay as you watch and they reduce their tarrifs.

dis is nice, bt we need pay as u watch

MultiChoice's digital satellite TV, DStv announced on Tuesday that all active subscribers will have access to premium channels as the South African brand is set to flag off its Premium Open Week.
For one week - Thursday, 14 April to Thursday, 21 April - all active DStv subscribers on Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access bouquets will enjoy unlimited access to a buffet of premium channels, in the comfort of their own homes at no additional cost.

Ranging from exciting movies, both Hollywood and Nollywood, sports, music, documentaries and kids entertainment which are only available on the Premium bouquet, will be available to all active subscribers within the specified period.

The Managing Director, Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe who made the announcement, said the company’s priority is to put the needs of its subscribers at the heart of everything they do.

“The DStv Open Week follows recent initiatives where the EPL, La Liga and Euro 2016 were made available to Compact subscribers at no extra cost and no price increase was implemented on DStv bouquets in Nigeria on 1 April. Both these initiatives are some of the innovative ways MultiChoice is adding more value to subscribers’ video entertainment experience, irrespective of their subscription plan.

“At MultiChoice, we understand that times are tough for our subscribers who not only want to experience the best television entertainment, but do so at a price they can afford.

“Our DStv bouquets allow subscribers flexibility in price and choice without compromising quality or variety. However, we also understand that our subscribers on lower bouquets would enjoy the opportunity to watch some of the content available on the higher bouquets,” Ugbe explained.

He also asserted the company’s commitment to add more viewing contents to subscribers on lower bouquets as part of the company’s reward mechanism.

Multichoice also launched the ‘Game of Exploras’ offer, where 1000 Explora decoders will be given away at the rate of two decoders every hour for 21 days.

“All a Premium subscriber needs to do to qualify to win an Explora, is to remain active,” Ugbe added.

Thieves, this is purely marketing strategy. It's not cos they have their subscribers at heart but they want their money. When u finish watching those premium channels, u'll be tempted to upgrade to that to continue enjoying it. U kw say, onu n'eri eri adigo committed and will like to continue reading. Ndi ori.

Got an sms from Dstv (see below) to renew subscription before my due date and get an extra month free. I did and didn't get any extra month. Got a call from their call centre few days ago to remind me that my subscription would expire soon. i asked if i wasn't entitled to a free extra month and the lady said the offer was for Premium User only. I kept wondering why they specifically indicated my Smart Card Number in the sms I got.

Hurry, get 1 month subscription when you renew SC No 41xxxxxxxx before 16 Mar. Pay via banks, online, ATM or DStv offices. Ts & Cs apply.

Lol. This is more in their interest than that of subscribers. Subscriptions to premium should increase after this.

Complete marketing strategy to drive up revenue. Obviously their revenue has been seriously affected owing to the no light, no fuel situation. This is a decoy to make people subscribe. Nothing is given freely

We that are already on premium how are we going to benefit from this ?
ur active subscription will be paused during the one week, meaning ur sub will not run during the 1 week, it would start counting from when the free week ends, meaning extra one week for u, that's ur benefit, same applies to everyone whose subscription is running b4 this one week freebie

And so what is your reward for being a loyal Premium Bouquet subscriber - zilch, absolutely nothing; how is that fair?

Second time I am losing out for being a top subscriber.

First time was on the Explora; bought it at 81k plus subscription and 2weeks later they crashed it to 30k in the ongoing promo without prior advertisement - therefore not giving everybody equal opportunity to benefit from the said promo.
Have complained severally that they should at least consider such customers by compensating them through reduced subscription but to no avail - DSTV are just insensitive animals; how I wish they have real competition to keep them on their toes.

This is good marketing strategy. Since it will only be available to active subscribers. Those that have abandoned their dstv will surely activate the smallest bouquet just to enjoy the premium bouquet. This weekend go sweet be that.
