But seriously this law makers are really looking down on us as Nigerians. Playing with our intelligence. The timing of this whole thing is just wrong. You want to amend a law during an ongoing trail.

A revolution is almost inevitable in this country. We need to flush out these rotten eggs.

You can get a majority but enough to veto? You are kidding.

BTW, Yayi, is my senator.

He knows Alimosho does not play with things like this

Do you know why Alimosho plays with SINators like your Yayi receiving mega millions from us while lecturers are paid a paltry N120,00 yet we all want to progress as a nation
Where is the MOTIVATION for the lecturer to teach well and RESEARCH?
Thanks.

I said it yesterday that it would be next to impossible to get the 2/3rds required to override a presidential veto in the senate but some of Saraki's nairaland lapdogs felt they knew better. I hope Buhari does the needful and quickly too.

Legislooters trying to amend to cover their tracts and protect their loots. Saraki and his goons at work in once hallowed but, now polluted and corrupted Chamber. No to corruption and legalized looting and sharing. Gida nbarawos.

"He said Saraki’s trial had already started before the amendment bill was introduced, adding that they had no link."

Big lie. Assuming the bill has been on ground way back before Saraki's trial began we can say there is no link. But because of Saraki's ongoing trial, they want to quickly amend it to save him and they say there is no link. Who are they fooling. The amendment might good but it begs for questioning at this time.

What the senate must do to prove to us that there is no link is to permit every ongoing case not to be handled by the new bill but by the current one.

Democracy at play. Minority will have their say while majority will have their way. Sen Olamilekan is a cowar[/b]d, why didn't he sit in the senate and voice his displeasure on the floor of the senate. Moreso, he should list the names of those that are opposed to the bill. I'm sure they aren't even up to 1/3. The influence of the executive on CCT/CCB is dangerous for the independence of parliament. I support the bill 100%.

They dont just walk-out, they "openly state" why they are walking out .

So, the Criminal Senators think it is time to amend the CCB Acts because "PANAMA Papers" has exposed most of them as THIEVES?

In saner climes, even the mention of their name can make them resign to allow room for unimpeded investigation.
TODAY, the Labour Minister in SPAIN just resigned!
Though he says he is not guilty as alleged.... but he wants to resign so as not to bring SHAME tot he Govt!

Our own Senators dont have those words like SHAME, DIGNITY, INTEGRITY...anywhere in their Dictionary.

But dont worry, the President, Our President will NEVER assent to such nonsense.

Thanks to God for the theory of checks and balances inherent in the principle of separation of powers! The courts will check the impunity and corruption entrenching lawmaking initiatives of these Senators.

and it is when saraki is standing trial dat they want to change da rules, yet u as a citizen is in support of it. U tink they ammending da lawz 4 da sake of me and u da ordinary citizenz? No they are doing diz 4 their own selfish reason. Do nt support evil in order to spite da opposite side. Da last time i checkd da executive isnt even behind his trial. And worse still is da damning revelationz panama paper made on da senate president, in a more saner clime saraki shld have resigned. Bottom line is d fact dat they are nt there to protect our collective interest bt theirz.

So my question to Ike Ekweremadu remains if the amendment is passed into law, will it nullify the CCT trial of saraki because like it was said, it takes 3 people to preside over it, not two, like we see now.

I hope these senators know what they're doing because I'm starting to believe Saraki is smelling doom and he's now trying to play every card available on his table.
Saraki's trial will go on despite any amendment to the law. Besides, the CCT Act states that 2 judges are required to form a quorum, which the Appeal court/Supreme Court sustained.
