Good day mamas, reporting life from Denver, Colorado. Renewed my visa via Dropbox after my last trip to Houston for my baby in 2014. I wanted to fly United cos of d baby luggage allowance and they had only 3options Chicago, Houston and new wark. I quietly picked new wark as my liver no strong reach others Left Nigeria on d 13th night arrived at Frankfurt, had a 4hrs layover and left for new wark. Fast forward to Poe; CBp : Why r u here Me: to ve my baby Cbp: ok, where and wat hospital Me: Denver rose medical center Cup: Do u ve hospital correspondence Me: no as all the mails I was sent was encrypted but I printed out d price list I was given so I passed him all I had How much are u with Me : $9540 Where r I going to stay Me: with my husbands friend, then I was waiting for him to send me to secondary inspection as I was really not even answering him properly as I lost my dad 2 Sunday's ago so just pushing myself then he asked how long I intend to stay so I told him about 7weeks dats how he stamped me in till October and said have a safe delivery. It was just stress less. I thank God cos I wasn't even ready for anymore stress. 20 Likes |

Why do u need an agent when u can just do it on travel start or walk into United airline head office in Ikeja? I got my ticket at United HO and it's dis same route. Cheaper than travelstart with about 2k sef. All the best MrYagi: 1 Like |

MrYagi: A good way of proving to the CBP officers at New York POE that you are going to Houston is to book Lagos -New York- Houston,so that you already have your ticket and boarding pass to show them that Houston is your final destination when thy ask at New York,. It will also be advisable to have hospital and doctor's correspondence and accommodation booking or a Houston address handy to show. Yes you can buy a local ticket in New York the morning of your arrival, but that's not a wise thing to do because it will cost you X2 or X3 of what it would have cost you if you had bought it in Naija like 2/3wks before trip. You can use your Naija ATM/Debit card to buy local ticket from Southwest ,I've tried it and it worked for me. You can try Wakanow for cheap tickets, but i seriously doubt if you will get any cheap tickets for tonite or tomorrow |

(I didn't bother pumping on the flight as baby was bosom fed)I pumped about 3 bottles tho but I ended up throwing away as the milk was in the cooler bag for about 6hours,i didn't feel good giving him ) 3.try to carry just essentials on board(diaper bag/pump)you might want to check in your hand luggage, your car seat would be checked in and ur stroller would be collected @ the door of the plane. 4.Wear something comfortable.(its a long flight and you need all the comfort you can get) 4 Likes |

mrsbw: I went back alone with my first child. Travel light oh, very essential because there are certain things you need for the trip with baby ie diapers and the rest. I would advise that you go with your breastfeeding cover and nurse your baby jeje. Make sure you get the bassinet seat oh, you'll need the sleep. To be honest sef you may find it hard to sleep but at least you should rest when baby sleeps instead of carrying baby all through. Check in your car seat and stroller with the cabin crew so you can get it as soon as you alight from the flight. Put all your essentials into a small bag. Diapers, wipes, change of clothes and the rest so you can put them under your seat. 3 Likes |
