The Federal Ministry of Transportation is to partner the World Bank on the development of a comprehensive Land Transportation Policy in the Country.

Hon. Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi while receiving a team from the World Bank, Washington, Dc, United State of America, led by Senior Transport Engineer, Africa Region Transport Unit, Tesfamichael Nahusenay Mitiku said the Federal Ministry of Transportation is ready to work harmoniously and partner with the World Bank team on the development of a comprehensive Policy guideline that will promote and galvanize Land Transportation in the Country.

The Minister reiterated that the Ministry of Transportation has not been able to take full charge of Land Transportation due to lack of relevant and appropriate Policy guidelines for necessary Administrative Management of the Sector.

He regretted the gap created presently which is hampering the efforts of the Ministry at revamping the Sector.

Ameachi I trust u sha. . After the wonders u did in Port Harcourt

But I need to see a 20 years blue print of the transport system

For me I propose the use of the Benue and Niger Rivers as transport routes to get goods from North to south

So, a country as big as Nigeria cannot even develop an appropriate policy for administering transportation in this country without world bank guidelines?. If the world bank know better about transport administration in Nigeria, why not just employ whiteman as our minister of transportation?

I've never been interested in politics, but this single post makes me want to get ready for a political post to directly help in running this country. African leaders are a disgrace to black people!!.

It's so amazing that people in government don't have idea/understanding/deep knowledge of the position being given to them since the position is party settlement(for good campaign input).

Until we start putting the right people in the right places(the same party member or not) growth will be limited.
OK, people working under the ministry of transportation don't they have jet-age innovative ideas on how to improve the ministry? My guess is as yours; their appointments was "who you know" not can they deliver.

Check this out:
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola who spoke in Abuja recently, said the government would understudy ‘Jakande and Shagari’s housing estates model to develop affordable housing units for the masses. This would involve building 40 blocks in each state.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/01/reduction-of-housing-deficit-fg-ponders-adoption-of-shagari-jakande-models/

So all the months spent in the job there is no clear cut ideas be on how to improve housing. For the minster to tell us "they will look at Jakande's housing policy" before an idea will come out.

Fashola ought to know better since he was governor of Lagos State, so does it mean he had no clear cut idea of Jakande housing system before.

If Nigeria was a private venture, we would have overtaken continents in all areas
