You need to live in UK to understand. It's part of the culture here to disregard Europa League. Everyone feels the same way from the fans to the players.

For one, those players don't want to be playing Thursdays and Sundays. If you play EPL on Sundays you can't be competitive unlike Laliga where it's their culture to play on Sundays. Even in the press they will be bombarding you with info on how Liverpool have failed to win 60% of their EPL matches on Sundays straight after Europa Thursday game.

The players just want to crash out early as possible, that's if the manager doesn't field kids. EPL is too physically straining to play 2 hard games every week.
