Looooooooooool

grin

I suppose the Awujale, Alake Egba, Osemawe Ondo, Olu of Warri, Deji Akure, Ogunsuwa Modakeke, Owa Ilesa are all superior to the Ooni and equals with Alaafin for Ooni to have visited.

Such wisdom you have sir.
Looks like you have comprehension issues bros and you somehow managed to confuse that with wisdom. I never said Ooni's visit has anything to do with the issue of superiority. I see his visit as a departure from the cul-de-sac of superiority claims.
You made a stupid statement that the Alaafin and the Oyos are ignorant of history and now you are making stuffs up. Oyo history is clear that Oranmiyan is a direct offspring of Oduduwa. It is also clear in stating that the royalty belongs to Oranmiyan and that the Ooni is a priest not a royalty. This has been Oyo history for centuries. The arithmetic of the king of Ife being automatically superior because Oduduwa settled in and died in Ife is not a fact of history in Oyo Yoruba. Oyos have NEVER ever been subjects of any priest or Oba at Ife. It did not happen in the 15th or 18th century and it won't happen in 2016. That's where re-writing history from now till the end of time using today's mindset won't change anything. Let the Ooni concentrate on the development of his people and let the Alaafin do the same while they are still constitutionally recognized

Lets call a sde a spade.....

The Ooni of ife is not the a King. He was a priest. His full name is OONIRISHA. He was a priest and he paid tax to the allafin of oyo.

This is why the allafin of oyo will not accept him as his superior.

You are right. The Ooni is a glorified priest. That's why the Alaafin would never consider him a superior cry undecided

The story of oyo and ife is like the story of a child becoming richer and more powerful than his father.

The first ooni was in ife and his grandson established alaafin in oyo. Oyo later became more powerful because of oranmiyan personality.

Read the history of the yorubas a book written in.the 1800 s by Rev Johnsons. Rev Johnson was an Abeokuta man

Sorry, that is not Oyo history. If that is Ife history then they are entitled to their version but it can't be imposed on the Oyos. Again, in Oyo history the Ooni is a priest and he is not biologically related to Oduduwa. If it was that simple we won't have any Alaafin/Ooni tussle for years.

If you want to see document. We would show you. obas of towns work for the government and get paid salary every month. and those vehicle/house is own by the government. they dont own it. when they vacate it. another person enter it.

They are blocking me from putting correct information on this website.
He is a lower rank person, if you check online, you will see, they make him sit on a small chair
The owner of this website will not allow us to put correct information on his website

What do you see, the Nigeria flag
If he visit another oba in another town, you are still going to see the Nigeria flag

Because you suppose to raise the Nigeria flag when a visitors come.

Inferiority complex. Is it the Ooni's job to build aeroplanes? "Those Americans sitting beside him" are not inventors or jet builders. Your problem is racial inferiority complex. Keep the Ife king out of your neurosis and go see a therapist pls.

You're the one with comprehension problems and a very blocked head.

Your mental capability is so low that you said Oono is no royalty with no hostorical evidences and knowing fully well Oranmiyan who founded Oyo stool also founded the present Ife dynasty.

Ooni is no priest, Ooni relies heavily on Isooro to do anything that has to do with Yoruba religion.

Oyo's power relied heavily on military which is never everlasting. The towns Oyo lorded over were coerced, none voluntarily recognizes Oyo as ultimate and when the time presented itself they waged war, defeated Oyo & cut it to size.

If the towns were under Oyo since inception then your argument for Oyo's superiority would have been valid. If we go by your premise of Oyo's power then we can as well say Ibadan os greater than Oyo considering around 19th century Ibadan called the shots in Yoruba land and Oyo hid under it.

Lesson: never ever use military might to judge greatness, it makes no sense.

Keep in mind, Ife crowns & validates Oyo kings - what is more royalty than that?

Uncle, stop it.

1. Olowu's mother was the first child of Oduduwa not Orangun.

2. Oduduwa never shared lands. His sons met at ita ajero in Ife where they chose to head in groups north, west, south, east where they either found a town from scratch or joined an existing group to start a monarchy.

3. The first place Oranmiyan founded was Osile in Abeokuta, then Bini & Oyo.

4. After Oduduwa passed & with his sons moving out, Obatala's people decided to take back what was theirs & assumed the throne starting with Osangan Obamakin to Obalufon.

5. There was no slave boy anywhere in our history. After Oranmiyan came back, he met Obatala's people on the throne & consolidated themselves. He went to war & sent them packing - reason the Ilaje migrated to Ondo.

6. Oduduwa's children had taken most of their father's royal materials and after he passed the Idanre group stole Oduduwa's crown and left Ife. They have it till now and this is why Ooni goes to Oke Ora during where Oduduwa came from coronation to be given Oduduwa's own crown but the Idanre group had taken it so when the Ooni goes there a make shift crown of Oduduwa is made for him with iroko leaves and some othee materials by Olojudo.

7. The Obatala group had intensified their strong hold and they had the ade-are, Obamakin's crown to go with it. Oranmiyan came back, waged a war, sent Obalufon packing and took the ade-are which every Ooni wears once in a year because it does not belong to them - to wear it, they call th Obatala people to tend to it first in order to make it wearable.

8. All the founding houses in Ife today descended from Oranmiyan.

9. Oduduwa was the first Ooni but the aspect of priesthood was done by Obatala while Orunmila did the Ifa aspect.

10. The long & tedious process of installing an Ooni - eating, body marks, rubbing on the skin, marks on the head, drinking, initiation into different cults & periodic orisa possession makes the king Ooni Orisa. The last of the 201 deities.

Gerrit?

Oga this is a distortion of history o......

I am from oyo and this is not the oyo history said.

I have some questions.

1- when oduduwa( a variation of adua/oodua) came to the Yoruba land, who were the people he met?.

2- you stated that oranmiyan was not around after the death of his father, where was he?

3- why is it that Oranmiyan was the one entitoed to ghe crown and not Orangun of Ila( the first son)?

4- how did oduduwa (a stranger) become the king over the resident yoruba people if not for his knowledge and metaphysical powers?

5- if oranmiyan had to fight to get back fhe throne, what does that tell you? Was there peace in ife then? And where did oranmiyan get the army to fight the obatalas.

6- if oduduwa was the king(oba- note that we yorubas don't use oba) then he wipl have an army after his demise and the obatalas, obalufons took over, they would have been in charge of the army, how come they were subdued by oranmiyan's army?

Sir, thanks for the clarity of the children of oduduwa, but the allafin is the head of the ypruba people, ooni is not a king instead he was a priest, and after his death, a slave boy( from a slave mother) took over as an arole.

Oranmiyan commanded him to pay tax also. The allafin of oyo in 2013 clarified this statement.

I knew you had to be Oyo!

So Oyo knows history of Ife better than Ife, interesting. If you want to learn Ife history, listen to what Ife history says and not what Oyo thinks Ife history is about. No one can tell the history of someone else better than the person.

1. Oduduwa didn't 'came to' Ife. Oduduwa was from Ife in Oke Ora, he only saw a 'weakness' in Obatala and usurped power. Oduduwa was in Ife with Obatala, Oreluere, Baba Sigidi, Osangangan Obamakin, Oluorogbo, Orunmila, Gbonkaa etc

2. Oranmiyan was in Oyo, he came back after long after Oduduwa had passed.

3. My previous post said all Oduduwa's children met at Ita Ajero where they deliberated and agreed on moving out of Ife. And no, Oranmiyan was not 'entitled' to the throne, he only didn't want to lose the seat back to the people his father waged a war against to have.

4. Oduduwa was no stranger, he was from Ife living ag Oke Ora. Read up man, this thing had been discussed execissvely on NL.

5. There was peace & tranquility. The two wars Ife experienced were that of Oduduwa against Obatala then that of Oranmiyan against Obalufon. Oranmiyan may have come to Ife with a retinue of soldiers from Oyo but Obalufon like Obatala was never a soldier and had no chance against a battle like Oranmiyan anyways.

6. Ife is the only town in Yoruba land & history that never had a standing army. We never fought any wars and wars were never brought to us. Our first attempt with Owu had us badly beaten till Ijebu came to our rescue. Modakeke beat us a number of times until the last war.

How is Alaafin the head? By divine right or by military conquest? If by military conquest, did the towns he subdued revolt and conquered him for their independence or not?

Oyo, like Owu, like Ibadan, like Ijebu, like Idanre, like Ondo all had one thing in common - military might that faded.

Towns had already fought for and won independence before Oyo fell, Oyo has fallen and what we have now is a make shift Oyo. No town is under Oyo. Ibadan rivals Oyo side by side now as peers. Alaafin is like any other king in Yoruba land, there's no military might to fetch him any clout, fear or to coerce towns under him.

Let these sink in.

Hahahahaha olodo now I understand the cause of your ignorance regarding validation. So thist is your academic 'historical' proof of Oonis validating the Alaafin? grin grin . Do you have a picture of any priest Ooni validating any other Alaafin especially the most recent one? For your enlightenment, what you saw there was an act of the government of the old Western Region with the descendant of the priest of Ife colluding with politicians led by Awolowo to gain relevance as Governor-General of the colonial region.
In essence, the priest who never ruled any empire or real kingdom became the Governor-General backed by the laws of that time grin .

I hear you. Oyo knows Ife history more than Ife.

Oyo lost its culture when the empire collapsed, too many people were displaced. What you have there is an attempt at thevpast in every sense of it.

Anyways, take the time, go to ife then conduct your research.

Where is this east that he arrived from?

You like the other man just want to dive into a history you know little about while holding the card of the false tales you were told.

I have heard you. Even yera moses(of you know him) will not dispute all i said

Sorry, that is not Oyo history. If that is Ife history then they are entitled to their version but it can't be imposed on the Oyos. Again, in Oyo history the Ooni is a priest and he is not biologically related to Oduduwa. If it was that simple we won't have any Alaafin/Ooni tussle for years.

stop talking as if u are speaking for the whole oyos. In fact, u are one of the reasons why Nigeria is still struggling
