Damn! U just put a needle thru their baloon. They didn't consider that now they are going to scrap it all.

Building the Hyperloop would be just 1/10th the cost of a high speed rail system, and 1/4th the cost of a freeway. Maglev technologies are also extremely energy efficient. Another Maglev system funded by NASA called SkyTran has a near zero energy impact. It uses solar power and needs almost no power beyond that.

The power is coming from the sun free of charge and effective..

You mind showimg us where that was assarted?

I said this system is up and running in Israel.

Or to you the phrase this system means the same hyperloop they just tested in the US?

The bolded is where you actually goofed, Hyperloop don't travel on Magnetic levitation oga.

That is just where I want to correct

Not to be outdone, HTT recently announced an exclusive deal to license passive magnetic levitation, which employs a magnet and coil system developed in the 1990s. “Utilizing a passive levitation system will eliminate the need for power stations along the Hyperloop track, which makes this system the most suitable for the application and will keep construction costs low,” Bibop Gresta, COO of HTT, said a press release.
Slow your roll and stop confusing yourself. Hyperloop is one thing and what propels hyperloop is another thing.

It's like a freeking car that could be powered either with petrol, ethanol or battery.

Hyperloop One is using air propulsion for their system

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies or HTT is using Maglev.

Hyperloop is a concept and mode of transportation and not what it makes it work.

Hyperloop is a mode of transportation that uses either air propulsion or Maglev.

Stop confusing yourself with concept and whatever source of power they function on..

As an investor they must have studied their business terrain and know what is applicable their..Hence must have provided a viable alternative and its possible they generate their own Power..

It also uses little electricity since one pod uses same power as 2 hand dryers. So Solar might work for them

I guess you can not show us where such was asserted.

Hyperloop Transportation says it will use a ‘cheaper, safer’ form of magnetic levitation

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, one of two LA-based startups working to build Elon Musk’s futuristic transportation system, announced today that it has licensed a technology called "passive magnetic levitation" to power its prototype. The system is "a cheaper, safer alternative" to regular magnetic levitation, or maglev, which is currently in operation powering high-speed trains in China and Europe

Hyperloop

He calls it the "Hyperloop." Everyone else calls it a Vactrain or Evacuated Tube Transport. Essentially it's a track enclosed in a tube that has all the air removed from it, making it a frictionless vacuum. The train would move through the tube via magnetic propulsion similar to the Monorail at Disneyland; which was built in 1956. This is called Magnetic Levitation or Maglev for short. Because there is no friction it would be able to reach speeds up to 4,000mph! At that speed you'd only feel 1G of force, which is the exact same force gravity is applying on you at this very moment

MIT students design Hyperloop pod that will float using magnets

Intended as a low-cost way to speed passengers between Los Angeles and San Francisco in a fraction of the time taken by other modes of transport, Hyperloop consists of driverless capsules travelling in low-pressure tubes mounted just above the ground.

The low pressure would reduce air resistance, meaning capsules propelled by linear induction motors could speed through the tubes at speeds of up to 760 miles (1,220 kilometres) per hour. Friction would be reduced by floating the capsules on a cushion of air or by using magnetic levitation.

MIT's winning solution involves levitating the pod above the track with powerful on-board magnets. Propulsion would come from induction motors built into the track itself.

Weighing only 250 kilograms, the experimental pod can travel up to 246 miles per hour, although the design does not account for passengers or cargo.

We use magnet levitation and our pod doesn’t have any onboard propulsion," an MIT spokesperson told Dezeen. "We will be accelerated by a SpaceX launch device, casually referred to as 'the pusher

http://www.dezeen.com/2016/02/02/mit-students-hyperloop-elon-mush-spacex-competition-float-using-magnets/

The MIT designers said they used Maglev, but some olodo people on NL with no engineering degrees are claiming the opposite.

Time to get back to the main topic now that the ignorant assertions about maglev is trashed and flushed..

Raising unnecessary hope. This would not happen, maybe in 2050 but 2020? For something still in concept phase? Make them talk more believable lie like the Dubai in Nigeria plan or the Abuja Millennium tower which was meant to reach completion since 2010 but in 2016 has not neared 25%.

Both items you quoted are maglev.

One is passive while the other is mot passive.

Hyperloop is using passive maglev

Lagos skytran is going to be passive maglev

Same thing.

Question.

Does hyper loop travel on Maglev? Yes or No.

Answer that question and see who is playing dumb and ignorant.

You bringing up a design from test designers as back-up to say Hyperloop is Maglev.

The original design of the Hyperloop concept propounded by Elon Musk NEVER uses Magnets (Maglev) for propulsion.
However in 2015, there was a Hyperloop pod design competition organised by SpaceX where different designers came up with they think could be the commercial Hyperloop prototype and you were dumb enough to post their concepts to massage your lying palletes.

http://www.spacex.com/hyperloop

The news should have read Lagos builds maglev tracks and not Hyperloop as this is just a ploy to deceive people.

You should ask Skytran the conceptual design they intend using for the tracks because I know it is not the Hyperloop concept that I know

What is hyperloop? I bet you don't even know..

"The Hyperloop is a conceptual high-speed transportation system originally put forward by Elon Musk, incorporating reduced-pressure tubes in which pressurized capsules ride on an air cushion driven by linear induction motors and air compressors.

Designs for test tracks and capsules are currently being developed, with construction of a full-scale prototype 5-mile (8 km) track scheduled to start in 2016.[7] In addition, a subscale pod design competition on a very short, 1 mile (1.6 km), test track was built in Nevada – the first tests of the scale model occurred in May 2016"- Wikipedia

It's VERY shameful to still be arguing after its been proven that you're telling lies...

Hyperloop design is different from Maglev.

And Lagos is not building Hyperloop and by the way if those two companies are the two companies building your "Hyperloop" where does Skytran come in?

No need for all your nedless essay. Hyperloop is a mode of transportation like car, train, plane and boat..

Hyperloop as a mode of transportation is adapted in different forms, on land, above land and could be powered using different methods like maglev or air propulsion.. Simple.

And yes, construction is up and running in Israel and set to come to life in a few months. End of story.
