About 40 lock-up shops with auto spare parts worth millions of naira were yesterday destroyed by fire at the Ladipo Market in Mushin, Lagos.

Lagos State Fire Service Director, Mr Rasak Fadipe, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the fire started around 1am.

NAN reports that on April 20, more than 50 shops with assorted vehicle spare parts were burnt at the Osoro Section of the market.

Fadipe said when his office learnt about the inferno, fire fighters were unable to access the place because of the clash that happened in the area during the night.

“We got a call around 1.20 a.m, but we could not move into the complex at Odushina Street, Papa-Ajao, Mushin, scene of the fire due to a fight going on in the area.

‘‘The Divisional Police Officer at Olosan Police Station, Mushin, led us with his patrol vehicles to the scene before we were able to put out the fire at about 4.46 a.m.

“There were no cases of death or injuries recorded from the inferno.

“My men, however, saw some people with blood all over their bodies, which they suspected were injuries from the fight, “ he said.

This was a revenge move by the people who felt that Ibo traders stabbing Yoruba trader and destroying other Yoruba trader's property won't go unretaliated.

Ibos aren't the only one in Lagos, so they shouldn't make themselves a nuisance to their host community. Their prideful and destructive behavior needs to be checked before Lagos becomes another Northern state. Yorubaland is peaceful and should remain peaceful.

To some people, violence is bravery. Because Fulanis are violent, they're seen as more brave than Yorubas. Because Igbos are more aggressive, they're seen as more brave than Yorubas. No man has monopoly over violence or aggression. Any man can develop aggression and become violent overnight.

Let us remember than Yorubaland/SW is the most peaceful of all region. Let us do our bits to keep it that way. Let's not bring violence from other regions to the SW.

The Yorubas must have read Tsun Zu's ART OF WAR. undecided undecided undecided

They retaliated quietly.

Let us stop this violence. It is not helping anyone.

Lives are lost, property damaged.

My bloda Battle is a one day braggado, War is a medium to long term art that require set pieces like chess.
Do Igbos have the set pieces to hold Yorubas to ransom in Lagos or nigeria at large? I think not.

The one run by Ambode, or the one run by Eze ndigbo Jimi Agbaje?

Do igbos have the set pieces to hold hausas to ransom in kaduna or even Abuja or Nigeria at large, igbos defended themselves in kaduna, time will tell what would happen in Lagos, when igbos react, Lagos would burn to ashes. If igbos can defend their lives in kaduna during the riots then Lagos is a little thing.
I really love what is happening and I pray it doesn't end here.

Igbos defended themselves in which kaduna? Igbos that run home with their tails between their legs every time there is a crisis in Jos, Kaduna and Kano, only to return weeks later after everyone don forget..... then they start lamenting to the UN that they are being killed and start signing online petitions begging putin, Obama and Merkel to come to their aid.
Same way they all ran away from the West during the height of the MKO Abiola saga... telling yorubas that they were on their own.
Lagos is a little thing abi... ok then cool.

Our miscreants are the ones that will fight you, not the useful 99% of our people, while our elites will pull the strings.

Yes you can quote him to do the needful so that you can continue with your self deceit and hypocrisy
Everyone is realising what nairaland is turning into and it is just a question of time

What's NL turning into? You guys celebrated the stabbing of Yoruba man and the destruction of their properties. Is that what NL is teaching you?

Because I felt it was turning into that same thing yesterday. It is only when the tide is not turning your way that you feel NL is turning into something, not when you are laughing your skulls out in derision of another.

Increase the price for Yorubas please, so that they can start buying from Yoruba traders. You're only spelling doom for yourself in Lagos.

I find it funny that you take this cowardly act as a big deal. Watch how the traders move on like nothing happened and re-stock their shops

Cowardly act is:

1. A whole community of Ibos ganging up to kill one hausa man

2. A whole group of ibo traders ganging up to kill one Yoruba trader

Ibos are motivated by violent speeches preached by Nnamdi Kanu to kill anything Yoruba or Hausa. Where will this take you in another man's land?
