why you no put proverb?

the scarcity of tomatoes that led to its price increase is due to a disease epidemic called tomato blight.

don't blame the government.

Truck pusher, you know I want the betterment of Nigeria and Nigerians. I couldn't care less who the leadership is as long the country is moving forward. I have no loyalty for any President. I just want my beloved Nigeria to get out of the Third World. I was in Nigeria twice last year and it seems the situation is getting worse. Hopefully, things will improve. Enough of bad leader after what Nigeria went through. It's time people start holding Buhari feet to the fire. In fact, critiquing your leadership is the highest form of Patriotism.

[size=15pt]The dulllard will kill Nigerian economy because he simply has no sense about what to do, and too proud to recruit capable Nigerians regardless of their party. Even Babangida and Abacha didn't play with the economy of Nigeria. They always went for the very best Nigerians when they were selecting their economic team, while when it came to service chiefs, they had their way in selecting their friends and cronies.

Imagine that John Kerry and Hilary Clinton who served in Obama's administration were his rivals at some point. but he realized he needed special talents they possessed for his administration and USA to succeed. Imagine our dulllard engaging anyone for reason of talent as opposed to membership of APC or donating to his family.
Anyhow, Nigerians deserve what we get. Let the dulllard suffer us wella wella, so that we will hopefully put our own wellbeing and the welfare of the country first when selecting leaders than religious bigotry.

Your post has expressed your level of ignorance. One question has the cost of tin tomato increase. You may not have heard of virus that affect tomato up north.
institute of pests and disease control(hope I got the institution name right) issued a warning to Agric ministry abt the new strain of tomato virus that currently crushed yields across the north .
But unlike the vibrant adesina et al. Useless ogeh nd his sleepy head choose to ignore the warnings now we are hear.

They are no thinking of removing subsidies on fertilizer. Useless admin

The scarcity of tomatoes is not as a result of the present administration... farmer's produce are been attacked by a new bug which destroys the tomatoes making them run at loss
bro it's it.
Agric ministry was given for hand warning abt the strain by institute of pests nd diseases alongside experts but Oga ogeh nd his crew choose to do nothing abt it

It is not a curse. Nigeria can never develop. The so called leaders of tomorrow have fallen to a level where they can't be revived again.

Another 90 year old will come out to contest for presidency in the next elections and y'all would start screaming. The older generation aren't this useless in my opinion. They do not talk without using their head.

It is disgustingly shocking that people are blaming the Federal Government for the increase in the price of tomatoes. Despite the fact that the news is everywhere that a certain pest is responsible for this, we still blame the government.

The redemption is impossible!
I see nothing but pure hatred on sarcastic posts on social media about the president this days. The funny part is dat whether dey like it or not Buhari will remain till 2019. Imagine people blaming Buhari for power shortage but at the same time praise Niger Delta Avengers for bombing pipeline dat prevents the flow of gas to power it. The kind of citizens we have is really a big concern for worry. God help us.

Once upon a time,
Time time.
There was a body language that solved all a nation's problems.
The people of the land hailed the body that spoke so sternly, that all criminal activity ceased.
At least, in the eyes of it's supporters...
So now wey tins dey go wrong, make we no ax wetin do body language?!
Haba! Wish wans na?
Whose job is it to protect the lives of nigerian citizens?
Who do the police, dss and all armed forces answer to?
Whose job is it to protect our lives?
Whose job is it to ward off foreign invaders?
Whose job is it to ensure that the nation's citizens are well informed and well equipped to defend their lives and their loved ones?
You have the audacity and effrontery to defend a man who's either enfeebled, incompetent or downright tribalistic?!

Please, what's the minister of agric doing about it?
And where was he when it started? Abi d insects na new tin wey neva hapn b4 for 9ja?
@otokx- Please, keep calling people children of hate, instead of holding your servants accountable. God will come down from heaven to solve the problems we've blatantly refused to solve ourselves.
Unbelievable.

You should educate yourself instead of reacting emotionally to a scientific issue. Have you looked online to research the causes of this current tomato scarcity? After all you have access to the internet. The crops have already been destroyed by the pest called Tuta absoluta. There is nothing any minister can do about it cos this year's harvest is already gone. The only option is to import tomatoes in the short term and wait for next year's harvest. That is the reason why tomatoes are so expensive right now.

This is tomatoes currently selling at shoprite. This same pack was sold for around N300 last year.

With our GDP now in the negative, and inflation going through the roof, I pray we don't begin to line up for food soon like Venezuellans.

God help us!

Other prices as at today:

Kilo of chicken now N1,000
Basket of tomatoes N40,000
Bag Of Rice N18,000

Op easy on the lies
It's not that bad
Btw were re u going to get the 81 nausea from if that's really the price in shop rite
Abi wen them start to sell tomato for shop rite?
