Every material you requested for I buy, your labour fee I am paying at each stage show your competence and get the job done but no disrespect to quys working hard to make you a success.

@HAJI M
on the bolded not true

@TLAX
Every house has a story , probably to be told on house opening day maybe in 2 mouths time. Take this as an invitation.

@ABDULWASTECX/PODPSCI
You guys have a job to do, sincere comment will beget respect for you and make your job easier.

Oga I wish you well but to avoid disappointments the house will not be ready in 2 months time. Maybe the carcas will be ready. Even with unlimited funding, the finishing will take longer than that unless you want a rushed and shoddy job.

Also from what i have read so far I think its what direct communication between landlord and engineers can resolve amicably. Not every dispute has to be on social media.

I also hope you will comment on emerging information from the engineers but you guys should do that in private abeg. Stop entertaining people. These are not unusual construction site issues.

Have not had time to go tru the thread page by page. I will express my observations and appraisal when i go tru page by page.Secondly its personal but i hope there is no friction between you guys and the project financier because the tune of some of your updates suggests that? Also i know about the lecture you have just given. I used the term "highly" to emphasize the importance of that component and the need to employ best practice irrespective of cost. Good to know the machine is available in Enugu and thats what matters. Logistics and cost does not justify the use of hand mixing where machine is available. Try your best bro. God bless.

I think you know more than you are saying.......

I am just analyzing the thread updates and your sudden decision to do online checks. I will be back with comments on what i think is going on. But straight talk will be appreciated and putting all the information on the table.

My brother, we follow our drawings and try as much as possible to see that it's built according to our plans.

Thanks for your matured comments, as always.

@enugu6br, I doubt very much if the house is yours at least by your attitude of avoiding to address issues raised by the Engineers and resorting to command and bullying as iif they are your boys. These guys are professionals who have shosen to stake their security to travel from the Northern states to go and work for you in the remote Enugu village, Yes, it's part of their job to do so but they deserve some respect as well. It is unfair to prey on their operational priniciple of delivering any job they started if hurdles are manageable to keep bullying them. 'House is mine,' house opening in 2 months', Hajji M your invited', story of this house to be told'. Give us a break please! The fact is that the house is not yours, is not going to finish in 2 months even in 1year remember that the Engineers met some blocks which appears to have been there for over ten years and suddenly your bragging of opening the house in 2months, and inviting Hajji M if only that would secure you a temporary online support against the Engineers. Hajji M would leave attending to mature events in US to your mosquito infested village. Keep your sentiments bro and ensure that you supply the Engineers the necessary materials to enable them fulfill their contractual obligations. Stop being childish bruv! Every house has a story by the owner but you don't have story for this house because it isn't yours.

I have been enjoying this building, the detailed application of engineering processes which the builders are giving us here is very educative. Please let us all try and tone down our words so as to keep this beautiful thread and project alive.

@ enugubr, please call and confirm the roles of everyone who is a part of this building, in my own opinion, there is just too many layers of supervision and this always breeds friction as everyone tries to assert their authority. In building and in life in general, "Too many cooks spoil the broth" Please handle issues with your builders in private, we are only interested in the completed building, and God will bless you to finish this house in good time, but not in two months time Sir cheesy Hajj Mufutau may be afraid of such hastily assembled house and may "dodge" the house opening ceremony.

@ abdulwastecx and Podosci, my friends, I just love your works. But do more of working and less of replying. This our work is the most stressful job in the world, often times, Un appreciated by those on the ground. But you will go far in this work. Please, "Always say less than necessary" try and resolve issue offline. Keep up the good work, thanks.

Baba abdulwastecx and Podosci, well done.

Spyder880 don talk.

I believe you'll succeed. I know how difficult and challenging situation as this can be but try to justify everything in action and not words.

Well done.

________
Baba enugu6br, I go like follow Hajji's entourage to the house warming ceremony. It's been a while I visited the coal city. May God give you the grace to finish well.
In construction, there are too many dependencies and if there's delay in any part it may lead to budget overrun.
Every extra minutes spent on a project (resolving issues, awaiting approvals, amending designs etc) comes at a cost to the owner and builder.

The middleman is doing a 'no-risk' obligation. So you want want to look at that area and ensure things are well managed on your site.

Best of Luck!

Dont mind me jumping on issues. I didn't bother reading what happened, who's right or wrong. I just felt I should register my presence on this wonderful thread.

Gbam. You more than hit the nail squarely on the head. Just for a duplex and he is making so much noise like this and having several layers of middle people. If he is constructing a multi-layered apartment block, what will happen?. How does he expect the Engineers to work effectively with these layers?. When i was building my duplex, the only person that interfaced with the builder was my brother. If builder says that materials are not enough, he tells me and i send money for him to go and buy. If any other busy body person comes, i ignore such a person.

I have followed these guys abdulwastecx and Podosci very well here and have been impressed by their intelligence and display of knowledge and professionalism. To tell you how impressed i have been, iam now even considering pushing my son to go and read Civil Engineering instead of Mechanical Engineering that i have always have in mind.

Haba, please let the young man make choice of his dream Carreer. In my opinion if he has interest in mechanical Engineering, good for both of you. If he doesn't, pls don't push him to what he didn't have passion for. Mechanical engineering, is vey wide field. I'm in one, I thank God for the passion. I alway imagine how things work, that how I develop my interest in it.

The concrete slab has undergone curing for the second day in a role. The BS 8110 specifies use of clean and fresh water.
Curing of concrete perfoms the underlisted functions.
- Controls moisture loss of the conrete
- Controls temprature of the concrete
- Helps increase the impermeability of the concrete
- Increases the bonding process between the reinforcement and the concrete.
All the above listed functions ultimately contribute to the concrete attaining 99% of the desired strength of 25N/mm2 after 28days.

What will these guys gain in lying? Is your supervisor procuring the materials or not?
When there is a middle man between Builder and Client there is bound to be wahala in-between.
Do you have another way of checking your Supervisor to see if the material procurements are adequate?
Think about it. I am not accusing anyone here o, just an observation.

Hajji M.

I know I don't have permission to tell what I observed. I have seen that site and the issues of supply. Podo was not lying. They were waiting to complete the wood supply the day I was passing by the site. Too many middlemen.

Work has come to halt this morning because the supervisors on ground have been unable to get clarrification and authorization from the supervisor in lagos for the purchase of materials ( Wood, nails, blocks).
Hopefully the clarrification and authorization would come intime for work to continue today.
