Fulani herdsmen who has caused much havoc to different communites round the country and named among the most dreaded killer group round the world. About 5-6 months ago, there came these dreaded fulani cattle rearer who came to our land, destroy our crops and plants cultivated by our kinsmen. After much plead and attack by our youth to retaliate, they fell on deaf ear instead chasing away our youth and women from the bush, raping some women and committing all sort of havoc. They even come to town, steal food and go back to the bush.

After much panic and complain, we decided to stop them totally from this wicked act by simply acting wisely without physical combat or killings. The elders brought out a solution to stop them without human interference, which we did and it worked like magic.

There is this particular thing old people take which is called "Snuff" is a smokeless tobacco made from ground or pulverised tobacco leaves. It is insufflated or "snuffed" into the nasal cavity, delivering a swift hit of nicotine and a lasting flavoured scent (especially if flavouring has been blended with the tobacco). We decided to buy them in bags and spread it at night round the entrance of where they come in and the exits and advise all the community to avoid farm for 21 days so as not to fall victim to the anger of the fulani herdsmen when the action is done.

Lo and behold the thing worked like magic, as the cattles sniffs the snuff it blocks there respiratory system and make them feel uncomfortable and struggle for there life, and that marks the end of there life. They struggle and die in less than 10 minutes. The Fulanis kept wondering what must have gone wrong and the next day another set came and they sniffed the snuff and killed many of their cows at ones. Different set came for different days and they all left with some of there cow dead. From there they informed there colleagues not to ever step foot on that community that they have poison everywhere.

Till today, Fulani don't come close to our community with there cow as they have labelled our community poisonous. After noticing they have left we went back to farm and counted more than 100 cows that was found dead all on the floor and we left them to decay to form manure and today we are producing giant corns from there.

I think it is high time communities sit and find a lasting solution to this menace without waiting for the government.
