Dear Seun,

The unfortunate development in parts of Niger Delta region that has seen the irresponsible destruction of public and private facilities by a misguided group claiming to be Niger Delta Avengers has seen a few people calling for a modification of your infamous Rule 9. Specifically, promoters of this call have been asking you to censor anything related to NDA and their self resolve for a sovereign state, just like you did the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) and their secession demand.

Though a Niger Deltan and an advocate of Niger Delta emancipation, I join many others from the Niger Delta and across Nigeria to condemn the economic terrorism and carnage perpetrated by the faceless NDA. I've never believed in self-destructive and suicidal ways to address a problem.

I believe it is also appropriate to state my position on the censor call. A position I believe is human, legitimate, and appropriate.

1. Recall that about few days after you enacted the 'infamous' Rule 9, I stated in my disagreement thread that..
.
It will be more appropriate for the moderators to take down content by agitators of Biafra that promotes hate, violence and support arson. However, they deserve the right to be expressive( as long as they express themselves in a civil manner).

I still stand by the position that you instruct your moderators to take down content, posts, tweets and comments including from popular news outlet that promotes the violent act and economic terrorism of the NDA. ****

2. Nairaland is a platform that offer everyone the chance to air their views on issues and contribute to National development. The issue of the Niger Delta, like other agitation should not be swept away like a non issue. I believe Nairaland should offer political discussants the platform to discuss these issues and see how a consensus can be achieved to attain development and peace in our country.

We owe our dear country and humanity a great responsibility as a group and as individuals. Posterity shall never be kind to us if we abuse the privilege and opportunity that the Almighty has bestowed upon us.

tonyebarcanista there was no nairaland and facebook when saro wiwa and adaks boro started the niger delta agitation so banning people or closing thread can never solve the problem

you cant fight crime with crime

do you know buhari remove pipeline protection license from ijaw boys and give it to Itsekiris militants to protect the pipeline because they vote for buhari

i dont see any reason why Amaechi will close a university just to spite tompolo you can seize his assets but liv the school for the people

Nigeria is on a gun powder the only solution is truth we all know the government is not fair to the people of Niger delta if the might of Nigeria army can not suppress the struggle i don't think Niraland can also stop it

Seun's MODs should keep banning people like us that dare to tell the useless ND Scavengers, their promoters and fans club the bitter truth they do not want to hear, while turning their eyes away from the people hailing the Scavengers.

Seun this is the time for you to censor NDA. Let their promoters and fans club create their forum for such criminal activities, rather than using your creativity to propagate their crimes and terrorist acts.

Some loud mouthed Red Mudsters tried it last year, swearing never to come back to NL, they failed woefully. They are all back.

IMpose sanity by preventing criminals from using NL as a propaganda tool for their crimes. They are criminals and that is who they are.

They will either be brought to justice or justice will be brought to them, either way. It is only a matter of time. They should ask Ojukwu and Shekau's bandits.

You are misguided ... perhaps by the wanting of buhari to complete his tenure. Well, I don't argue with fanatics... they tend to not see things for what they really are. Whether dialogue or not, give buhari 20years to rule or not. Those are not the issues raised... whether Jonathan refused to resolve those issues or not doesn't mean the people(the masses) of that region don't want it resolved. You are a fanatic, u will never see my point anyway.

Definitely not a fanatic if Jonathan as the Nigerian president for 5 plus yrs, son of the soul failed to achieve what his region as been clamouring for ever since the amagamation of Nigeria I simply believe they should wait till Buhari who as no idea of their plight is gone before tabling their demands again. Jonathan never granted book haram demand I see no reason why Buhari should grant the demands of the Avenger. What is good for the goose they say is good for the gander.

This is not being fanatical it is common sense. If OBJ that is not from the NigerDelta can bring about 12% derivation what stopped Jonathan from using his party machinery to increase it to 25% so that we can make steadily progress toward at least 50% with such installment increment instead of his total neglect and wanting an aboki that will not profit from such a gesture make such delicate decision ? After all it is their right he just needed a systematic method to ensure the country does not go up in flame while at it.

Now, listen closely sir. No one is asking that
you totally sensor all news relating to the
activities of NDA- of course not!!

Mainstream
media publish their stories, so I see nothing

asking you to do is sensor comments that
tend to celebrate their acts of sabotage and

their highly condemnable activities.

Banning such posters who make such

I accede with this, but why not mobilize them and execute a placid colloquium with them by indoctrinating them via refuting their ideology with the aim of inducing them to ditch it?

They feel indignant because of their perceived marginalization and other forms of prevailing and impending unfair treatments against them. So adopting violence blueprints for curtailing their activities will solely pass a message of authenticating their sensed aversive conceptions towards them, thereby, aggrandising their resentment and acrimony with the govt.

The govt should be tactful and express pacifism towards this repugners. the “crushing” mechanism will solely depict portentous presentiments.
