PastorAIO:Pascal's wager restricts the criteria for eternity to believe only. That's implies that you can rape, kill, do any feckery you want and still make the heaven as long as you believe. That's an F U to whatever moral life one must have lead. It's about tricking yourself to believe. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Julianyao: Well tbh some parts of the bible agree with that. But then other parts directly contradict those parts. As for morality, forget it, the worst thing for anybody or society trying to develop moral character is christianity. 2 Likes |

I'm also not an atheist in a foxhole, had a lot of accidents... dusted myself and went to the hospital.. The day a bottle exploded in a trashbin and slit a bit of my neck people were shouting jesus all through, If I was a theist, panicking and shouting jesus would've only lead to more bleeding from my neck and possibly let the pieces push further into my neck... just hailed a bike to the nearest hospital.. 3 Likes |

Oluwaseytiano: If you don't have time then why are you here? Are you saying that what I asked you is not pertinent? Prometheus gave humans fire and was punished. So what? We are talking about Pascal's wager I believe. Do you know what Pascal's wager is? What is it? Again I ask you. Did Prometheus refuse to believe in the existence of Zeus? Did Zeus say he will punish people who did not believe in him? 2 Likes |

PastorAIO:Same guy replying your post. The poet Homer tells tales of countless humans who were punished for disobedience by the gods of Olympus. The Greek gods show more human emotions than any other Deity's on earth. And do I know what is Pascal's wager? I won't answer that. |

kepstone:Why did God put uthrough d strenuous exercise of praying and all if he really wanted to save u, he would have done just that without u praying for infinity hours. Does that also mean that those in Nyanya were all punished by God? u would also agree with me that not only u escaped. Some people who had not prayed in years also escaped. What makes their's less gracious than yours Attributing events that happen by chance to a deity does not bring d deity into existence. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Hardmirror ur story reminds me of one certain time during exam period in my school, I fell really ill that I could not stand, eat, or even lie comfortably. After some time I recovered and my roommate asked me if during thag period I asked God for help. I told him no, I can't ask an imaginary being to help me. Imagine the scenario when I am about to be robbed and I call on superman to save me. It would not bring superman to save me and I would still get my ass robbed. Atheism has made me face reality for what it really is. 4 Likes |

kepstone: Stories like this makes me more confident about my decision to dumb God. Sir.. Pls listen to urself.. Do u think you made any sense from a humanisitic point of view. Put urself in the shoes of those who died. Would u b happy some survivor giving such testimony. Moreso, ask urself what makes you better than those who died, are u more righteous or what... It is a priviledge to be alive. If God indeed was involved, he would not allow such horrible thing to happen in the first place . Mind you if we take a critical assessment of those who lost their lives in that horrible event.. They are mostly xtians and religonist alike. GOD CANT PROTECT. menxer: he made the provision. and he gave us his word and his spirit to know how to lay hold on what is ours. The ball is in our court. our thanking God is simply our act of worship |
Re: I Had An Accident (PICTURE): Unraveling the foolishness in God's protection by menxer: 11:31pm On May 29, 2016 |
Joagbaje: lame argument. You said we can't hold God responsible, how come he is now responsible for our provisions? why should one thank God for what he is not responsible for? guy man, God is beyond definition, don't try to use thanksgiving or worship to define God, it sounds more like bribe. God is us, experiencing creative manifestation in and through us on this plane of existence. 3 Likes |

Vick4rill: @bolded, you've lost in many ways.... Don't you understand the gravity of the ignorance you are vomiting out We loose many things dear... - We were scammed - We were fooled and outsmarted - But most especially, we are ignorant. I got so many things to loose only if I later discover that the whole thing is just a game, a test of writing skills by the writer of the book called Bible. You know that in game, the characters present may also be imagine that they are alive, active and really heading to a real life destination. But believe me my brother, the whole thing is fake, unreal and only a test of programming skills by programmers. Did you want to live your life like the characters in those games 3 Likes 2 Shares |

menxer: Let me break it down for you. If I give you a high tech gadget to make life easy for you and also give you the operating manual . If you operate without the manual and couldn't benefit from the gadget who do you blame ? Yourself or me. Who is responsible . God made provision and gave manual and principle on how to lay hold on it . If you follow his instruction and it works , you give him praise . |

Joagbaje: Your arguments from where I joined you don't sync. if God is not to be held responsible, why is he held responsible for the provisions? You make a case for following God's instructions, when God isn't even responsible for anything. Who would be held responsible for factory fault in the product Or a complex set of instructions in a strange language for a device? Is it that you don't understand the meaning of "responsible" in a wider context? Your argument is self defeating except you withdraw that statement not to hold God "responsible." |

menxer: There's difference between being responsible and being held responsible. God fulfilled his responsibility by making provision and also showing us how to lay hold on it. you don't hold him responsible any longer. If I paid money into someone's account and he lost his atm card or even lost the money , should I be blamed? Or held responsible? . I was responsible enough to make the provision but not responsible for misuse or neglect on the other person side You make a case for following God's instructions, when God isn't even responsible for anything. Who would be held responsible for factory fault in the product Or a complex set of instructions in a strange language for a device? |

theoneJabulani: You're going on about punishment for this that or the other. Human emotions don't come into the issue either. You say that you're an expert on Pascal's wager. Pascal's wager is about whether to believe in God or not. Is that so? The matter of God's existence is at the heart of it. Please tell me if I'm wrong. No where did Homer ever mention that greek gods killed anybody because they didn't believe in their existence. No where in Greek mythology will we find a notion of a final day of reckoning in which part of what we shall be judged on is whether or not we believed in the existence of the gods. Please tell me if any of these things I'm saying are right or wrong. Christianity is unique in that it makes the criteria for escaping judgment Belief. I'm not aware of any other religion that does so and that is why I say that Pascal's wager still holds for christians. |
