Cars at back are at greater disadvantage in a crash. In 2012 I wrecked bonnet of my French car by hitting it against back of an Asian car. Dude just got down checked his car, saw not even a scratch, while my car bonnet was all rumpled. He shrugged and drove off.

these days the front of the car body panel are made soft, as way to protect pedestrian, my nissan xtrail 2002 the two front side panels are plastic

people in the car are protected by airbags and manufacturer have now shifted to protected the pedestrains

I agree that it's a fact. That's why I said quality over quantity. The Germans do in fact build better cars and are responsible for a lot of safety tech that has now trickled down to cheaper vehicles.

There's the ihs crash rating test in which vehicles from most manufacturers are tested and then rated. You should check it out. You'll be amazed to see how unsafe some popular cars are.

Vehicles from Manufacturers have crash test ratings. The Germans do better than manufacturers from other nations except those who build super cars like koenisegg, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.

Bro, I said they do better, I didn't say they are the best. You should also know that Toyota out sells the Mercedes Benz by almost 4 to 1 and is much more reliable. You know how strong the g wagon is but it is likely that you might never see one in a crash because their limited number and if you've been in one you'd feel like you were in a tank of some sort. the 4 runners are rav4s are good cars and safe too but have you found out their safety ratings, you should get that stats and compare with Mercedes or Audi.

On second thought. There's no clear winner. They do better than each other in different segments. So I hereby withdraw my comment that the Germans do better. Please take a look at the latest crash test rating. It's enlightening.
