Instead of addressing there issues you are trying intimidation , this is how a country loose there best talents due to the stupidity of political appointees This man will soon loose his job anyway This is why nigeria doctors who have been trained with our money are helping other countries instead of giving back to nigeria if this story is true shame on you Adewole. 10 Likes |

The circular directs the CMDs to REPLACE the Doctors that have VOLUNTARILY WITHDRAWN their services, it doesn't say anything about sacking anyone. The onus lies with the Doctors to return back to training, they should be grateful for being giving the opportunity to train in a FG establishment. There are many Doctors waiting for the opportunity to train. |

Doctors have no immunity? Federal Govt & Buhari led administration should tender justice with mercy. Sacking resident Doctors shouldn't be the best option when we're yearning for employment! |

Indeed CHANGE is fighting back. Welcome to the new Nigeria, as much as they tried to paint GEJ's tenure as bad, he did not fire striking doctors. Nigerians are getting the change they deserve. 4 Likes |

olatade: Private practices flourishing where? I know of some that make money but many are closing down due to low patronage. Many people cannot even afford private services. Only the big names are still flourishing the others dem dey hear am. Guy it's not as easy as you think. Maybe you can afford private services but many Nigerians cannot. It's expensive. Even those who visit gov't hospitals can not afford the fees talk less of private. If private were as lucrative as you think who would work for gov't. The said residents 're the man power of the hospitals where they work. Do you think it's easy to replace them. It's all about knowledge and expertise. Fashola started this trend and I knew it would continue because of the prevailing situation In the country. Many doctors are under employed because they have no choice. I can assure you that if the threat is carried out fresh doctors would be available to fill the gap but a lot of trial and error with your lives would ensue due to the knowledge gap. You think its bad wait for more. My opinion though 5 Likes |

Y should doctors go on strike, is it not these same doctors tht reject patients tht r in a life and death situation?? Abegee we have done things for too long for a long time, that doing the right thing now feels abnormal, if they don't want to work there r a thousand and one doctors out there that are ready to work |

doctors should understand that everyone is suffering in nigeria e.g police, nurses, army, cleaner, civil servants e.t.c no one is more important than the other. As useless as our police are..we still need them and they are working hard despite their colleagues overseas getting paid over 1million naira per month for the service they offer. make doctors go chill. what if every other government worker decides to go on strike? would they doctors even survive? 1 Like |

To start with resident doctor are not yet doctors but doctor on training, they are the ones we call baby doctors, so the tittle of this tread is misleading. The residents doctors are still students but get paid more than level 12 officers in federal civil service. Residency must not be done in government hospital but for you to be a specialist you must go through residency, so any babydoctor that feel cheated should go to a private hospital for residency where he will paid 25k allawee |

90% of the people commenting here dont know who resident doctors are. They just saw "doctors" and ran to start blabbing Residency is a training period for medical professionals. These guys are not even yet confirmed for practice and they are already striking Abeg this is a very welcome act by fg. Doctors own for naija don too much.
