If you haven't gotten your CAS, no point printing out your bank statement mate. Funds must have been in your account for 28 days ending no more than 31 days prior to the date of your application.

That is the part i dont understand ending no more than 31 days prior to the date of your application does that mean you have only 3 days to apply from the day you print your bank statement

It simply means u must apply not wait for more than 31days after you have printed the statement before using it for ur application. for instance if am submitting my application on 1st of august then the date the statement of account was printed must be between 1st of july nd 31st of july

Guess u mean if d money in d account has matured for upto 28days or more,I can print then I should then apply within 31days and not more than that.

Exactly. That is what it means. Print the statement when it is closer to the date of your interview. Not more than 31 days.

I don't know why you guys are just giving yourself unnecessary high Bp.

Thinkin, complaining, anxiety will not change anything. Rather you guys should be +ve and prayerful. Infact, you guys should be thanking God this is happening now. There is still some time before September to make any amendments where possible.

I still insist the rates will drop to around £1 = 350 naira (black market rate). Just calm down and wait.

It dropped between Saturday and Sunday.

As at Saturday it was £1 = 500 naira and on Sunday it became £1 = 430 . Naira will appreciate, i strongly believ so.

O ye of little faith, be very string joor. By next week, I believe everything will stabilise better and then students will know their fate.

All the best guys.

The 'Date of Application' (this is the date you make your Tier 4 online application and pay the IHS charge and application fees) .
You can only use the rate on d application date to calculate your maintenance deposit.

So now, for those of us that filled the form A before this crazy policy took effect, what will be our fate?? At what rate will the banks charge us... so confused and depressed cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Bourne007(m): 9:45am On Jun 21, 2016
Timm is right.

The guidance says the date of your application will be taken to be the date that the fee associated with the application is paid. This means the date shown on your payment receipt, which depends on how you paid for your visa application, for example, at a visa application centre or online.

This doesn't technically mean you have to apply within 3 days (your appointment for example might be after 3 days). It just means you must show that you have held the required money for a consecutive 28 day period ending no more than 31 days before your application.

Fx is now independent of cbn. Market forces would determine the rate from now on

Hello guyzzz!hope yo are doing well...
I am planning to apply for the UK tier 4 student pbs. I ve been reading t topic since the morning, very useful...I will have a question if you don't mind.
Can we withdrawn part of the money inthe bank account used for application just after being issued the visa, for example if I need some to buy my ticket to uk. Will there be a problem somewhere?
Thx for your bright advices.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Bourne007(m): 2:29pm On Jun 21, 2016
Once visa is issued, why not. You can withdraw and buy your ticket. After buying your ticket, we fit use some of your funds to pop champagne and celebrate your departure grin wink

Inexplicable:
@Justwise: I am new on this forum but I have read a lot in here. Your consistency has been amazing chief! Keepirrup! I applied for General visitor visa late last year buh was denied. The major reason for the denial, according to them, was because they were not really convinced that I owned the money in the bank statement I submitted as part of my supporting documents. Undettered, I intend to apply for a tier 4 student visa for my master's programme. The university I applied to granted me scholarship in respect of my tuition fee in an amount that is quite substantial. An account was opened in my name wherein I have deposited the outstanding tuition fee and the cost of maintenance thanks to a samaritan who helped with the funds. I am waiting for the 28 days to lapse before obtaining the bank statement and applying for CAS. My worry is whether the Home Office will be interested in how I came about the funds and whether I will be mandated to evidence documents to prove the funds. What do you think, justwise?

Normally the source of the money in your account is not questioned but sometimes they do call people in for an interview. So hope and pray that they don't call you in for an interview

It simply means that after accounting 28days you need to apply for visa before a month after the 28days.

E.g if your 28days ended on the 28th of this month then you need to apply for visa before 27th of July.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Bourne007(m): 9:44pm On Jun 21, 2016
@Justwise .. I think you're wrong on this one.

Any money you use for maintenance (tuition fees and living costs) must be in your account for a consecutive period of 28 days. During the 28 day period this money cannot drop below the required amount for even one day or you will not meet the Home Office requirements.
Your bank statement must be no more than 31 days old on the date of your application.

I'm having this same problem also. Filled and submitted my form A before the new policy. My account officer told me bank charges would only be deducted after the transaction is successful and I've been debited. Telex copy is the problem now. It is well

As for me, the bank charges have been deducted, yet i still haven't gotten my telex. The last time i spoke with my banker, he said he will request for the telex. I communicated with him and he said its not yet ready. Whenever i buzz him,he doesn't reply, as if am bugging him. Some bankers can be so annoying, not considering how important the telex means.

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by thababe: 10:54pm On Jun 22, 2016
OlowoB:

according to the poster @thababe she claimed it was possible to actually use Form A to pay for private accommodation provided you have an account officer that is understanding. She suggested the idea due to the increasing forex so as to save cost for students.

The advantages are (1) You can pay using form A for about 6 months provided your bank is wiling to help out (thababe did it according to her) (2) Official CBN rate (3) since you are paying for private accommodation, you are not really bound to any contract like school accommodation

The downside (i) You need some one you really trust in UK to check the room for you (2) It is a dangerous means cos you could be swindled.

I have always suggested for students to make sure they see rooms physically before paying (except school accommodation) any cash for private rooms (means they have to get to Uk first before paying), but because of this fluctuating forex, students should try and look for the best way to minimise cost. Hence, they can try out thababe's option.

yep Olowo B exactly what I mean..I paid for the first 6 months in sept (through GTb form A) and when it was about to expire I approached GT and they said they could not do it..but my other acct officer in fidelity said she would do it so I paid the rest via form A. Like you said it is RISKY but thankfully I had someone here who helped me inspect before I paid. I looked for ads on sites like rightmove and when I saw anything interesting I would ask my friend to see it physically to be sure it was like the pictures. I also paid directly to the pty agent. When I used form A for the second round of rent I did it from the UK (you can fill the forms and send to your account officer once you are sure of the details)...so there is also that option so you do not take the risk of paying for a place you have not seen. Just talk to your account officer and see if they are willing to assist...evey naira saved counts. All the best
