that one is their business, i cant afford to buy a new phone because of whatsapp , bf whatsapp was introduced, i survived and will still continue to survive cos i'm a 9ja gal and survival is lyk our skin.

I would always continue thanking God for not allowing me to buy BB Z30! Thank God the guy refused to reduce the money that day(on a friday), so i told him I'd come back on Monday, only for me to read the news of the potential death of BB 10 devices when i just got back home.

I still don't understand why WhatsApp wants to end BB10 support, There are still people out there using this platform.. BlackBerry only have themselves to blame, They made bbm exclusive and were a bit arrogant and proud of that till WhatsApp came on board.. This decision will probably kill off BlackBerry completely..

BlackBerry itself is dropping BB10 and switching to Android. WhatsApp has no incentive to keep supporting dead/dying platforms.

Blackberry Z30 has got android OS 5.1 though, but still uses blackberry application world, would have been nicer with the Google play application platform.

You can install Google Play Store on your BB10 device to get android Apps. I use a Z30 and I downloaded the Android version of WhatsApp on it from Play Store.

I really understand that people need to console themselves from time to time with certain hearsay stories. By the way the people you mentioned if actually they use BB would certainly be using a specially crafted and customized piece and certainly not the ones me and you know

Lol I use a BB10 but this doesn't bother me. BB10 already supports. apk android apps mostly. So all BlackBerry would do is to provide an upgrade to the OS, all BB10 devices are upgrade enabled. besides WhatsApp would never want to lose users in such a bulk.
Those to suffer this development are lower and mid range android users, as 98% cannot be upgraded to higher android OS, they are stuck with their initial version till death. So all those with OS below the required version are technically knocked out.

I got the same notification but I'm not bothered one bit. I have both blackberry and android versions of whatsapp running simultaneously on my Z30.
Again, I've had Google Play store installed and in use for a long time now.
