A microfinance bank head office in southeast, wants his employee from south east hasn't nothing to with tribalism brother!.

Lemme analyse it for u, microfinance banks employ workers with a process and it strictly for people who are good in customer relations coz any micro or conventional banks that lack dis, can't dream of making profit, talkless of achieving it. So language is part of customer relations or how will an hausa or yoruba lady or man relate with the people of southeast than the southeasterners? What business organization desired was profit-making. Is called marketing statistics

Smiles baba u fell into my trap! Oya oga explain this! Since its actually BASED IN LAGOS

YES, we would fight for the light skinned Nigerians if they were discriminated against, so don't use that as your excuse for being a self-hating black Uncle Tom.

Everyone is entitled to his opinion sha. To me, i see nothing wrong with his job ad. He can ask for a tall, short, fat, slim, crippled, or even deaf Lady. Like i said, its HIS requirement

Nice concept..me likey ...afterall Its their prerogative to want a conglomeration of pretty ladies working for them. However blame society for the distorted image it paints of what the standard of beauty should be the lighter, the brighter, the better.

In the civilized world, it is a CRIME to discriminate against a job applicant based on colour, race, ethnicity, gender, and religion. When will you backward, ignorant bozos join the civilized world?

Dont get the message wrong

It's his requirement

If he had written dark skinned as the complexion, will you fight for nigerians that are light skinned

Common. I dont see the racist comment there. Its still the same nigerians he would employ. Abi?

Going by your logic then I shouldn't be complaining since am actually light skinned, if it wrote dark skinned I'd complain also, unless the job is heavily centered towards I infiltrating azzholez in the dark because you know stealth.

Let me simply put this in proper terms you cannot and will not give job based on race, color, religion and tribe its wrong and its discrimination. You can have subtle hiring discrimination where the candidate doesnt get to know but you can't openly come out and say you want this person and attribute a quality that's not dependent on skill. Its actually wrong, its sad you don't see it that way, says a lot about you.

I don't think it's racist I think it's a propangada by the fvcking bleaching company and Western world to presume anything other than black skinned is attractive, look at fashion all focus are on light skinned women, promotion of self hatred, you can't have self conscious African American women, because that's bad for bleaching companies, how do you think fashion strives ita by spreading unhealthy notions. Got alot to learn my bro.

What trap! Are u settling all abt? Am only analysing business logic. Employer is not employing u basically to help u rather they employ u to render service for them and pay u, and the instances here are fact and clear. Before they arrive to dis job vacancy u ve below, they must ve done some business statistics inferences and those that fit in, to give them the margin of the profit they want, was who they mentioned in the job vacancy bill! So whats incomprehensive in dt, mr trapper?
Re: Lekki TV Company Asks For Light-skinned Girls In Job Ad, Nigerians React by Nobody: 1:38pm On Jul 07, 2016
Its a shame ppl can't rationalise I will and I repeat say it again if you employ and say Christians only that's a problem or yoruba people only that's a problem. Imagine if all companies were employing like this, not to talk about superficial qualities ,like I said you can employ light skinned babes only but don't come out and explicitly state that. Employing women only will depend on the nature of the job and the quota available for female employees then again companies hire on skills not gender. The fact I need to explain this says alot about Nigerians rationalize and see things. Yuck

Nothing wrong with the ad. He pays the salary, he has every right to declare a preference for the staff he wants. Anyone who doesn't like it shouldn't apply for it. No racism here, light-skin in Nigeria is not a race. If I were the dude, I will even add some more terms and conditions to narrow down applicants e.g. light-skinned females who apply must be a figure 8. grin

why don't some of you just be a little humble and get educated for once? It's discriminatory to give jobs based on skin color and that's what people are trying to tell you but you just wouldn't learn.
It's just a hopeless case with most nairalanders these days. They don't know and they are never willing to learn. The site is becoming tiring.

First I knew people like u would erroneously ASSUME the firm is based in the east.

Per the bolded if you were remotely intelligent u would not keep on ASSUMING.

It's a simple case of ETHNIC selection criteria with no IMPLICIT OR EXPLICIT reason given.

I only saved it to show any easterner with victim mentality who will claim he/she was unduly rejected cos of his /her ethnicity. Nobody holy pass.

To be honest, this isn't a big deal. Certain jobs in the entertainment/media industry have such requirements. Some casting-calls even specify height and weight requirements. Ever wondered why you don't see many overweight news anchors on the major networks? I have also seen advertisements for dark skinned girls so why are people ranting like there aren't more serious issues we should me worried about. His company his rules( as long as he ain't breaking any laws though)

My point is, even if is an ethnic criteria as u mentioned above, how is dt any of your headache? They are entitled to their desires. For cry out loud is a private organization not public

U are simply making a wrong accusation coz ur psychological trait is weak! I made a submission, I never assume in my analysis. So get dt straight

Wetin dey bad there??
dude you are completely wrong. This is why we fail as a country. There is a difference between an Industrial psychologist and human resource manager. The job analysis you have seen is done by a human resource manager or even an ordinary personnel. Now, A job analysis prepared by an Industrial Pschologist would not write such "discriminating act" for the public to know.. But a human resource manager or an ordinary personnel with no form of human resource training is likely to do so.. Employing the right people for the right job is very key..This is why we need Industrial Psychologist(at least 1) in an organisation.. If it was abroad, that company would go down because they just discriminated by publishing such ad.

But it is OK to discriminate against 1st class and 2nd class? It is called freedom of choice as long as it is not a criminal offense...
