Its just that the transcript request for my school (UK) is an online process with no option for uploading any document. I think I will just contact the school directly and see how they can help out with that.

Thank you. I appreciate the advice

UK schools are very familiar with WES, I schooled in UK too and I requested that my transcript be sent to WES. Fill your part of that form and scan to your school, contact them first n tell them u wanna verify your result with WES. I paid for the transcript and delivery fee, my transcript got to WES in two days and I saw it ticked on my WES account. It's the easiest process unlike my naija transcript that I've been trying to collect since 1759.

Thank you.
Sign below the form and write your name in print.

Can someone verify this? Someone in LASU told me i have to pay additional N10,000 to the school for WES Verification. and also pay to courier the verification. so apart from your transcript, when WES sends verification mail to the school, you have to pay this amount to LASU so they can verify your education to WES and courier it(additional courier fee). is this true? I am just wondering why so much expenses on this evaluation thing.

You only pay 10k for verification. No fees for sending the verification. It is an email response and this is why it doesn't make sense. Anyway, that's how it's done.

WES does not accept email verification from some Naija schools. If LASU is one of them, then he has to pay for courier.

I was referring to LASU in my post. Pay the 10k, submit the payment slips and go there physically to follow up if you want it done quickly. Otherwise, it will take months and they may even misplace your docs. Interesting system there!

Good day all,

This is perhaps the most educative thread I seem to have come across on Nairaland since joining. Its amazing how people have been helping each other with info on subject here.

I'm considering initiating this process against next year, but I need the gurus here to assist with an idea(estimate) of how much the entire process might cost. From writing eilts(already know that its currently 52k) to credential evaluation, to getting police certificate, medical report etc.

May God continue to bless every contributor here richly. For those already in Canada, may you never regret migrating there, and for those at various stages of the process, may God Almighty see us all through successfully.

Hello house. Thanks for the priceless information and guidiance on this group. I will like to make a quick clarification. Will it be necessary for a medical doctor with a masters degree to assess his masters degree as well as the mbbs (medical degree)? MCC (the body responsible for assessing medical degrees) has confirmed that they do not assess masters or other academic degrees as they a professional body. Will a doctor have to have the masters degree assessed by say WES or IQAS or just stick with the MCC assessment since it appears both assessment will fetch thesame points....Also if the school in Nigeria is taking forever to respond is it OK to go ahead with the assessment of the masters degree which is from a school abroad as this may be faster but I forsee this may not show that the applicant is a doctor (NOC code) as the course is applicable to other disciplines in related fields. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 2:17pm On Jul 19, 2016
Apart from IELTS, all other costs vary. For instance,
i)your credential evaluation cost depends on the cost to get your transcripts from your school, cost of verification of credential by your school and fee charged by the organisation evaluating your credentials.
ii)Police certificates cost is dependent on how many countries you have lived in for at least 5 months. Even PCC in Nigeria cost varies from zero Naira to infinity. It is also dependent on the size of your family
ii) Medical cost is highly dependent on the country and city you are. This is also dependent on your family size
iv) Application cost depends on the size of your family.

You might be able to get away with assessing your MSc. alone as your academic qualification does not have to be the same as your NOC code. However, I am not sure this will apply to Medical Doctors as you can't take up the profession without the required academic qualification.

If you decide to assess your MSc. alone, I will advise you attach your mbbs and a LOE. Make sure you explain that you did not claim point for the MBBS as the ECA is still in process. However, you are practising in your home country as a Medical Doctor based on your yet to be assessed certificate.

I will however advise that you should still try to evaluate your mbbs as you will likely need it to practice in Canada.

Hello House,
I sent my wife's ICAN credentials to WES for evaluation to achieve 7 additional points for me as the principal applicant, aside the fact that this has taken 3 month, she got a mail yesterday requesting WAEC result.

Is this the norm or should we have included her ATS?
What is the process of requesting WAEC to send transcript to WES? which of their office?

Thank you

Not for all occupations. Some occupations have specific qualifying/minimum requirements; am pretty sure medical profession is on that list. In her own situation, if she has a minimum of 1 year (or preferrably 1-3 years) experience in another non-regulated occupation, then she could use that experience along side with her MSc without using her MBBS at all. However, if all the skilled experience she has got was as a doctor; then she would have to get her MBBS assessed.

You can't use your masters ECA is place of MCC assessment. Try and work with your school to get the necessary documents across.

Good evening to everyone,

I am an FSW2014 applicant and I am waiting for my PPR. I recently saw that my LinkedIn profile has been visited in private mode a couple of times. I suspect it is CIC(now IRCC).

I submitted letters of reference from my current employer and my two previous employers. I have not changed jobs since. And my case analysis from my GCMS notes indicates that my current job was the only one considered as corresponding to the NOC I chose. So for the number of years of experience, I only received marks from my current employment. My previous jobs (experience) were not considered at all.

On my LinkedIn profile, though, I have listed my current job and the one before my current job. I have not included the first job on my profile. The reason simply is because I want to project my career post graduation and professional qualifications. I had the other job whilst still schooling.

Should that be a problem?

Cheers,

Lyz

Thanks for your contributions and advise @ dupyshoo & irondome. The problem is I submitted my application since 12th April and my school nasu has been on strike from then till date....not sure of when they will call it off...everything has been stand still even workers salaries have not been paid i heard....I will assess the masters with the relevant body & keep praying the strike is called off before I get ITA.

One other clarification I will like to have is that does one get extra 23 marks if one is coming in under the federal skilled workers programme, which I am through express entry. I got the information below on cic website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

Points
Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (with spouse) 126
Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (without spouse) 135
Federal Skilled Worker Program factor points (if this applies) 23

Looking forward to your response. God bless

No you don't. The 23 point being referred to is the 67/100 point system of the old FSWP. To be eligible for express entry, applicants are expected to have met this requirement (score at least 67/100).

Your score is what the CRS tools says

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

If you received an ITA with your MSc and you claimed points for your experience as a doctor (against a general practitioner NOC), your application would most certainly be rejected. It's strongly recommended you decline the ITA in this case

Do you have a non-doctor experience in any other skilled based occupation? if yes, you may be able to use that as your preferred NOC. In this case, using your Masters degree would suffice.

Anyone can actually view your profile in private mode; quite common with recruiters. Have been you applying for opportunities in Canada? You shouldn't worry much about your current experience as long as your migration points score doesn't fall before 67, when your other 2 jobs are discarded.

You should be okay as long as the job description on your ref letter closely match your NOC, and the ref letter was written in the right format. And if they are doubt, they would contact you to provide other supporting documents (pay slips, etc).
