why should one fear death when [s]he must surely die. well, i don't think cremation is the most hygienic mode of corpse disposal, it is just an instant decomposition and that is why i prefer it.

To my own little understanding, I think people are buried 6ft below the soil surface so that by the decomposition takes place, the smell can never have a way to emanate to the soil surface
