This is the gospel truth. Who is in charge now and collecting money when government is yet to take over? With the level of unemployment in the country now, there is every possibility that the number of corps that this self - imposed commandants might have recruited will be far above the number the government will be willing to absorb into the corp when government takes over.

There was a thread that trended here sometime ago, so many of their applicants were lamenting how they were made to pay thousands of naira. After the training, they were told to go home and wait for posting. Years later, they're still waiting to be posted and the peace Corps were still collecting money from new trainees. It's about time those behind this sham are arrested and charged for fraud.

i fell victim fpr their scam in 2002 in Anambra state. They camped us for 3wks and were busy milking us of our hard earned money. The money i spent should be about 20k then with the uniform. Some LGA staff left their job because they thought its FG job.


Their source of funding is laughable.


Lets observe a minute silence for those girls who slept with the whole officials then because of the job.

The problem with all these uniformed 'voluntary agencies' is that, one day the 'peace corp' will soon start asking for guns and bullets with which to kill innocent people. Just like the 'Civil defence' which also started like this.

What are their primary functions sef? Every mor0n wan wear uniform and carry gun to threaten people.

Federal government want to take over peace corp and every day they are collecting money frm so many people. Do u knw hw many people has paid for it? My sister collected same amount from my parents, but what's not clear to me about the whole thing is that, she said they will soon go to camp that she won't be able to go with this batch because of pocket money, cus d feeding is not from peace corps den she added that by December she will go with another batch. I've been doubting her since then if the whole story is true or not, the govt. hasn't approved it and dey are going to camp, how come?

Peace Corp...I have had a privilege to sit one on one with their present head, Mr Dickson Akor(very influential an allay to former Senate president, David Mark ) at my former office, they are on the road to be adopted as a disciplinary Corp to enforce certain rules of Govt. About strictness of children attending classes in public schools, upholding other forms of discipline etc., he is very determined and it is likely to be passed in parliament, which is how civil defense was b4 they were adopted by the FG
Regarding paying money and the likes,there is a sacrifice for success, some paid for civil defense back then, and some are enjoying it now...money for a job not guaranteed isn't really nice as things are quite hard nowadays...bro, follow ur mind.

You people need to be patient. There are due processes to follow for recruitment. It must be advertised in the dailies and agencies liike Federal Character Commission must be involved. I do not think this government will like to be involved in another CBN recruitment scandal again. Peace corp is under the process of being legalised but not yet. Those who paid and trained for FERMA job in Lagos those days must have learnt their lesson now. Whoever call himself a commandant now is likely to be a fraudster as government is yet to appoint any since the corp is still under incubation. Falling mugu to this trick is not a risk but foolishness

Wasting of money. By the time this Corp is approved, most of those who have been trained will lose out because slots will be shared among politicians and other stakeholders. The recruits will be trained without paying a dime, unlike this fraud that is currently going on.
Do you guys have any idea how many people have been trained since 2001? I obtained the form in 2001 if anyone here care to know. So if I may ask, how many people will they need if work finally starts? Not even one tenth of the number of people trained so far. That's even if assume that politicians will not hijacked it.
And if you think that they won't hijack it and recruit people based on slots because this is Buhari era, you're making greatest mistake of your life. I voted for Buhari because I believe in him, and I still do. But some new Civil Defence recruits just ended their training in one northern Nigerian state, who knew when and how they were recruited? Was the recruitment made public? Capital NO. What of CBN secret recruitment? Has anything done about it till today.
My advice: don't pay, but just wait and make connection with those that will eventually be allocated slots.

see if the peace corps or however you say their name employed someone like you then there aren't really thorough with their recruitment process and I implore the NL community to take advantage of this mediocre process.

first of all bills that are being read and passed on the senate floor are part of public records accessible to everyone who wants to find out. they don't do this reading in private. now, I had a look and could not find any evidence of the said bill being read by the Senate. I said I didn't find not that there isn't. there could be, I just didn't find.

secondly, because something is on the news does not mean it's true. I am sure you are aware there was a time a minister of the state defrauded Nigerians of their hard earned money in the name of immigration employment. by the way this happens everyday: fake employment on national dailies. believe it or not.
