I will be truthful here.
I am a Tecno Fan.
You must have seen my posts on Tecno around here. I have also created a number of posts bothering on Tecno.

Based on my recommendations on this forum, a number of people have bought or intend to buy Tecno phones, the moniker Otunba2004, being the latest.

I have handled the following Tecno devices chiefly because I have a friend who works with the R$D part of the company.

Boom J8
W4
Camon C9

and latest, Camon C7.

I have neither used L8 nor L8+

But here is what I know from researching tech blogs.

L8 plus has a 2GB RAM and a quad core processor with a speed clocking at 1.3Ghz.

That is the same spec which the Camon C7 has.
It does not hang.
It doesn't.

If the C7 doesn't hang, it is highly unlikely that L8 plus will do so, seeing as they have the same processor specs.

Moreover, if the L8 plus is a bad phone or something that is not worth it, you would have seen a lot of threads springing up by now.

I went through the posts of the person who made that allegation and I saw he is marketing another brand.

Is that a coincidence? You be the judge.

Go on tech blogs like MissTechy's if you want to get unbiased reviews.
Read through comments and above all, let your intuition guide you.

The difference between the two processors are clear.

Camon C7 uses MTK6735 and clocks at 1.3Ghz freq.

The Tecno W4 spots an MTK6735 1.3Ghz quad core and it is 1GB RAM

Now, the difference between these are the models and their release dates.
That of the L8 (chipset) was released early 2015.

If you check out the exact specs of all these chipsets mentioned above, you will find that there is no difference really. (it's online).

If my Tecno w4 could work optimally with a 1GB RAM, why shouldn't a 2015 chipset with a 2GB RAM work better?

If the Tecno W4 was bad even with it's 1GB, don't you think we would be seeing threads popping up from its owners?
How come we are yet to see negative reviews about hanging from L8 plus owners?

I am now comparing to W4 because Camon is more of the latest. This is fair enough.

L8 plus is game if you are really concerned about battery life. But if it is for pictures, Camon series is your best bet.

This thread shows a number of people who bought the L8 plus. if it gave them issues, by now, Nairaland wouldn't have been able to stomach their complaints.

You might not know, but if the L8plus had that 6572 in it, most would be returning them by now, as it's will give you the worst experience you can get with a phone.

Check from better informed sources always.

1. Since when did chipsets become much of an issue? I thought it was basically about the number of processors and RAM for everyday users?
Please stop making the chipsets ish come off like it's one big deal.

2. If my W4 also uses mtk6580 like the L8plus; and my w4 despite spotting 1GB RAM never gave me issues to be worried about like hanging; how much more a 2GB RAM?

The best bet is to hear from people who have experienced the L8 plus. That is why I pointe aadvark to that thread.

you clearly do not know how these things work, else you would not say only number of cores matter.
The mtk helio x25 has 10 cores, but it cant hold a candle to Snapdragon 820 four cores.

it depends on what you deem as efficient enough, as that previous guy already gave you his user experience.
Some can't stand the mtk 6580's performance, while som think it's okay for them.
