This Is The Correct Name Of This Popular Nigerian Fruit

Most Nigerians and indeed Africans, call this delicious fruit 'pear'. While that is not totally wrong (because it is also popularly known as 'African bush pear'), the actual name of the fruit is 'the safou'.
It is native to Africa and very rich in vitamins. Its botanical name is Dacryodes edulis and the tree is evergreen.
So the next time you stop by the road to buy roasted corn, just ask for some delicious safou
