I knew it just had to be a propaganda since they were used to Awoofwaste under the previous administration which they couldn't get with this govt. How could a sport minister not have provided for his team? But you the minister should have spoken sooner though. Well I can't wait to hear the details.

Did the ministry provide for their wears, flight, food and accommodation? If yes, the team need to tender their sincere apologies to Nigeria on YouTube. If no, the sport minister has some explaining to do. People need to separate their emotions from this and get to the bottom of what really happened. If a sport minister couldn't put his kids together for such games, he has no business being a sport minister.

NFF is crazy, now they carefully ommitted the part where the hotel's reservations were paid for my Mikel obi, the NFF representative dey talk about the flight issue alone. Wat about the hotel accommodation for the team? They were transparent as well?

Well, 'worst is relative' in this case, isn't it?
In terms of preparation,participation, motivation and team spirit, we haven't had it this bad. Controversies and disgrace here and there. I dare say we aren't in this competition to compete.
We should also know that the Olympic performance isn't just about how many medals were won as the primary aim of the Olympics isn't to win but to compete and foster unity. If it were just about the medals, Michael Phelps would unarguably be the greatest Olympian ever but arguably he isn't. Many athletes who won just a medal are still considered up there as one of the greatest.

Dalung seems to like talking to the media/press at any slightest opportunity. His media management has not been the best. This is one of the items that needs to be changed in the kitchen cabinet. ASAP


At worst, a probe will be conducted after the games but from the Atlanta mess to Rio's, it was quite obvious there's bad blood between some feds and the MoS. It was like the parties were playing out their scripts and making Nigerians blame one of them.

You started with a good point but later "spoilt it". Competing to foster unity as the primary reason of olympics does not reduce the recognition and classification of olympians. Phelps record as the greatest athlete is a recognition of excellence. The games promotes and honours excellence, and is not limited to participation

You see how the NFF inflated the money initially? From $174k to $300k. That's $126,000 extra! These guys are crooks. The truth is coming out little by little.

Now (from their own confession) we know that the NFF didn't make payment early enough for the planned chartered flight and so, the team was stranded in Atlanta. Delta airlines supported the team free of charge yet there someone sent a receipt to the minister.

NFF has been playing games with this country for far too long. That $300,000 earmarked for the flight must have been shared by now. Trust me. Criminals.

I read through the other posts and I am astonished at how Nigerians are directing their anger on the Sports Minister without considering the weighty accusation.
I don't see it as a joke, there is more to this than meets the eye.

And for those accusing him of not speaking up before now, please let us be fair, if he had done so and we crashed out the way we did or earlier, they will still blame him for doing so

I am not holding brief for him but just assessing the whole stuff from a different perspective
