According to Imam Imam who is the spokesperson of Sokoto state governor, shared this photo on his Facebook page.

According to him, the management of ABU Zaria has now accepted 'child labour' by registering children to run errands within its premises.

But is there anything wrong with the School management registering them? In western world, youngsters who want to, can start working at 16.

How old is he? Nothing wrong if he's constitutionally old enough.

People with lies and false rumors, those boys are matured enough and only help student carry their luggage from the gates to hostel.

They also beg students for jobs like washing for money

which is far better than begging which is very common among little children and adolescent in Northern Nigeria

The uniform is given to them so as to have access to the hostels

These boys are in every school, in Ekpoma, they were referred to as 'any work'. Probably had to register them for security reasons.

If he wants to earn a living while schooling, and is at the appropriate age allowed by the govt to do so, why not?

I tire o. This boys are mostly in suleiman, icsa /ramat hostels. They help students in carrying luggages, fetching water or washing plates. Most of them are old enough.

The uniform is given to them for security reasons.
It's still far better than begging, which is were most of them are recruited into criminal acts.

But let watch how my southern brothers display hypocrisy.

Nothing like child labor as long as you are not overworking the kid and he or still goes to school.

If that will keep them off ' almajiri-ing' on the streets, why not?

Who knows? being in an academic community might change their view and make them embrace education..
