Please how do you differentiate between 200 ah and 150 ah batteries. Which test can one run to know the difference.

They don't weigh d same, it should be labeled I.e if you buy from a reputable company, otherwise you will have to use it and use the backup time you get to knw if it's 200 or 150ah

Your load is considerably a small one, just one laptop. You can power that with an Eaton 1200W Plug and play inverter and Fullriver 100AH battery and you are good to go for over 6hrs. attached is the inverter pix. ( you dont need any installation just buy and use)

The sticker showed that the freezer consume 1.15KW in 24 hours. He would need to limit the use as this equals the rating of his inverter.

1.15 kw in 24 hours and 1.2 kw capacity are not the same

I will advise you to forget about using these items on your inverter plans; fridge, A/C, toaster, cooker, heater coil and any laser jet printer. Blender is ok but the printer depends on whether its ink or laser jet. Mind you, if you are using ink jet and would like to use inverter to print, that means you must buy a pure sine wave inverter. Ink jet printers dont work with modified sine wave.

Most of these appliances would either tripple you set up cost or reduce back up time.

Pardon my comment as I mean no offence here.

But it is kind of misleading when you tell someone that he cannot use certain appliances on an inverter or solar system. In reality, there is no appliance that cannot be powered by inverter or solar system. It all depends on the capacity of your system or how much you are willing to invest to ensure that the capacity of the system you eventually set up is able to carry the loads you wish to put on it.

All things being equal, proper sizing, good materials (solar panels, charge controller, inverter (pure sine wave) , RE batteries, cables etc), proper installation etc, there is no appliance that cannot be powered by inverter or solar system. It all depends on your needs, knowledge and money!

Cheers

I wrote that to take care of the misunderstanding. I want to believe that a man who lives in a 2 bedroom flat and is planning to buy a fridge and A/C should not be spending close to N500k-N1million for a suitable power back up system (kaysy, no offence intended). I live in a 2 bedroom flat but powering my fridge on my inverter is not in my plans even if i can afford it.

It will take 4 x 200Ah batteries to power his planned load for 5hrs depending on inverter settings. Remove those uneccessary load and the same battery bank could power the remaining load for 24hrs.

KILL A WATT METER is a device you plug between your wall socket and an electrical appliance to find out how much energy the appliance uses.

At home you can plug one into your refrigerator, TV, computer,
microwave, electric heater, stereo etc... And at work you can use one to
check out the energy consumption of various bits of equipment such as
computers, photocopiers, fax machines, and fans. You'll probably be quite surprised at how much electricity some things
use...

Why should i use it?
Believe it or not, some bad electrical items even use energy when they're switched off! These bad items are called "electricity vampires" because they keep sucking electricity until you unplug them or switch them off at the wall. A plug-in meter will enable you to hunt down these electricity vampires and any other
faulty or inefficient equipment that's using more energy than it should... Once you've
found the worst offenders you can repair or replace them, or at least take special care
to switch them off or unplug them when they're not needed. Some appliances, such as refrigerators, can cost a small fortune to run if they're a bit
worse for wear, so it's very important to check such items every so often to ensure
that they're not pouring energy and money down the drain. Even if you don't find any inefficient equipment, using one of these plug-in electricity
usage monitors will almost certainly make you more aware of your energy
consumption, and you can use the figures from it to encourage your co-workers or
family to be more careful about switching things off when they're not needed.

What are the features?

The Kill-A-Watt Meter -
this is the basic model that lets you read the instantaneous Watts, Volts, Current, Frequency,
Power Factor, and VA, and keeps a running total of kWh (energy
consumption) and the total time since the power was switched on.

The Kill-A-Watt Meter -
this enhanced model does all the above, but also lets you program in the price you pay for
electricity so it can keep a running total of cost as well as kWh,
and give you projected costs per hour, day, week, month and year.
When you have the kWh, calculating these costs is simple enough,
but it's pretty handy to have the meter do it for you automatically.

The other advantage of the watts meter is that it doesn't lose its cumulative totals when it's unplugged or there's a power cut (you have to physically hold the reset button to reset the totals). Unit price : #8000.00

Hello all.

See there are some really competent guys in the house.
What's your experience with Blue gate 20A 2KVA 24V inverters?
I need to know:
Can a 3.5 KVA gen charge it?
Can I use 2 or4 12V200Ah or the inverter?(Maybe in parallel)
Is it a good brand of inverter?
Can a inverter Ac 1hp be connected to it?
What kind of charging time is required?

Thanks y'all
