Hello all.

See there are some really competent guys in the house.
What's your experience with Blue gate 20A 2KVA 24V inverters?
I need to know:
Can a 3.5 KVA gen charge it?
Can I use 2 or4 12V200Ah or the inverter?(Maybe in parallel)
Is it a good brand of inverter?
Can a inverter Ac 1hp be connected to it?
What kind of charging time is required?

Thanks y'all

Hi,

Can a 3.5 KVA gen charge it? ANS: Yes
Can I use 2 or4 12V200Ah ?(Maybe in parallel) ANS: You can use two batteries connected in series to get the required 24 V or 4 batteries connected in both series and parallel maintaining the required 24 V
Is it a good brand of inverter? ANS: Bluegate is a big name in Nigeria, however i have not personally used their inverters.
Can a inverter Ac 1hp be connected to it? ANS: In theory yes. Is the inverter going to be used only for the AC ? I f not i would advise you buy a bigger Pure Sine wave inverter 5KV and above
What kind of charging time is required? ANS: Approximately 6 depending on depth of discharge and good NEPA light.

They don't weigh d same, it should be labeled I.e if you buy from a reputable company, otherwise you will have to use it and use the backup time you get to knw if it's 200 or 150ah

thanks bro....but labelling can be manipulated. There is actually an equipment to do that. I checked online. Would probably need to order one.

Still thinking if inverter/solar solution works? You need to ask those who have good solar/inverter solution in their homes or offices and change your idea or misconception about it. Our inverters have LED display that shows the wattage consumption, voltage output and the battery level. You can also set the charging priority to either solar or utility. We have 1.4kva, 2.4kva, 3kva in stock. For enquiry and order please call 07032687954
please what's the inverter set up for the following and cost Implication
32 inch TV
gotv
home theater
one energy saving bulb
one laptop and roughly 3 or 4 phones

Good morning gurus in the house, I just acquired a 1kva(1000V) African master power inverter and a one 200ah/20hr synergy intelligent battery. Pls what and what should I use on it as to get better juice out of it. And what are the precautions to take not to damage the unit. Thanks

Hello experts in the house, I have a little problem..I need HELP PLS!!!

I traveled for 6 weeks and when I came back I tried putting on My Mercury Radiant 1000 inverter but wont turn on and the red light comes on when switched on with Nepa power, what could be the problem?
I always disconnect all my appliances whenever I would leave my home for a long time and the batteries were working fine,to be sure it was not the battery(2nos 155mAh) I left the inverter connected to Nepa light and the inverter charged the batteries to full. The inverter comes on with a humming sound when NEPA light is available, but will not turn on when used with the batteries, it will make the humming sound as if it wants to start and stops just after 5 seconds. The RED & Green lights stay on when switched on and that should be a sign of a fault in the inverter...I think
How can I fix this pls?
Attached is an image of the model

if u have money , go for 2 x 200ah batts or 2 x 150ah battery,
using a single battery will put much strain on the batt, it will pack up b4 18months, and u may need to buy another batt

imagine driving to lagos from abuja on a 2cylinder , 4 cylinder and 8 cylinder car, while each car can make the trip, over time, the 2 cylinder car will likely breakdown first, while the 8 cylinder will serve u many many yrs...same goes for batt n inverter system,s

The number of batteries should not be what you look at first. Your ah usage or Watt hours should be the first consideration. The second is the depth of discharge. These two factors determine the battery bank size and how many batteries.
Your analogy using an 8 cylinder car is flawed. Modern cars come with cylinder deactivatation. If the car's computers determine that running on two cylinders is more efficient it would do so with no commensurate wear on the components.
One battery will work as fine as two batteries if he meets thee criteria. How is one battery different from 2.? If the design calls for 200 AH a single battery or two 100 ah batteries give the same results and the same cycle use.

lol, dont understand why we are all arguing.
dude said he has 1 32 inch tv..lemme assume its lcd = 150w
1 home theater = 80w
1 laptop = 60w
1 bulb = 20w
gotv/phone charger etc = 20w
total 370w
total energy is 12v 200ah batt = 2400wh @ 50% dod = 1200wh, factorin in efficnecy factor and losses = 1000wh

so his 370w load will last roughly 1000w/370 = 3hrs!!!

am really pissed that u guys are arguing over shit like this, so if this guy is ur client u will advice him to go for 1 battery??

advice like this has put many people off the solar/inverter or RE thing, as where u want to save money for him by suggesting a lean setup, it ends up back firing as the system fails to deliver, as client goes away believing that inverter doesnt work.

i have friends who people like you hv adviced wrongly and they ended up regretting and having to upgrade thier system at a very high cost within 2yrs. if u are well grounded in something, a simple glance tells u what may b wrong, i dont hv to bother abt dod/wh, usage time etc...for such an elementary scenario the OP posted. my motto is KISS = keep it simple s,tupid

Good day al,
Please I need some clarification and advice.
By my own calculations need 3.5kva to run all home appliances
However based on cost of setup looking at a 1kwh system to power small-mid sized freezer, a TV and lights. Cfl& leds up to 10
I intend to power only the freezer during 9am-3pm and tv+ lights during 8pm-10pm.
Generator will be on between 6-8pm for water pumping.
I am presently 100% off grid.
My situation is that even though the promotional materials I read seems to suggest 1kwh is good for a 3 bedroom 24 hours I am kind of worried may not satisfy me and i don't want to end worse off.
I have also not been able to understand or convert kva to kwh.
So will appreciate advice on if 1kwh system can work as I planned or not.
Thanks a lot.

1 Kva is 0.8kw. Take your loads multiply by the number of hours you want to run them for. Divide the result by 4 and you will have how much in watts you need in panels.
Lcd TV 8 hours. 8 x 100 w = 800 Watt hours. Divide by 4 = 200. You need 200 watts in panels to power your 100 Watt TV for 8 hours.
I hope this helps.
