This is a clear indication of what 2019 would look like, no matter the opposition this dare devil APC would never quit Aso rock or any other state they have planted their root. They will do this through any means they find possible.

For me the victory is the people's own, if an incumbent administration would find it so tough to return elected without a landslide and convincing victory then it shows they are not wanted by the people and it is obvious this is a rape of democracy. Infact left to me INEC should henceforth be called BNEC (Buhari National Electoral Commission), that this government cannot conduct a peaceful, free and fair election is indeed a very terrible thing. I have no doubt in my mind that anything built on falsehood will surely disintegrate sooner than later.

Brothers and sisters in Edo should not relent because power is surely for the people, without the people they cannot function. The objective is obviously to protect the short man devil in the state govt house and cover up the evil deeds they have done, but truth will always stand firm anyday no matter the midnight robbery of the peoples mandate.
It is well my people.

Mc4larin:
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday congratulated the government and people of Edo State on the successful conclusion of the gubernatorial election and the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki at the polls.

In a telephone call to Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, President Buhari commended the well-articulated campaign programme of the APC in the state, the doggedness of the governor, governor-elect and party members in going round the state to reach the people with records of good governance over the years and a promise of continuity.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President said that the outcome of the election clearly reflected the mood of the people to sustain the pedigree of responsiveness, forthrightness and diligence that Governor Oshomole brought into the service of his people.

‘‘The victory is good for democracy, for Nigeria and the people of Edo State,’’ he said.

President Buhari also said that the victory was well-deserved as the campaign train, which he joined, worked hard to sell its people-centered manifesto.

He applauded the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, corps members and electorate in ensuring a peaceful election.
INEC had announced that Obaseki won the majority of the votes cast, with a total of 319,483 votes, and he was closely followed by Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP, who polled 253,173 votes.

They have finally succeeded, why wouldn't he call to congratulate him when his age-long dream is to go into the south and conquer the oil territory. Clueless government the history of Nigeria has ever known

Oshiomole is the Minister of Petroleum..that post was reserved for him

I guess some want him to be new party chairman.

Removing Oyegun & replacing with Osho would not raise dust in the SS. Because on paper it would seem like like-for-like. Which it is not.

Buhari, a confirmed oil junkie since the 1970s will not hand over oil portfolio to a Southerner just yet.

More likely, Fashiola's portfolio would be broken down and a perceived fellow "infrastructure builder" given a part of it.

Mr, what's the reality? to answer your question I did not Vote last year. (cos I wasn't in the country)

Just so you know I am neither a wailer nor a Zombie, and if you notice most Zombies are gradually turning to Wailers. Am just an advocate of good governance, we just need some one who can provide the basics (RLW) road, light and water every other thing will follow.

Feel me now?

If U're not in this country who cares, let those in the country make their choice because they are the only one that knows what they have face in hands of pdp for the past years, if really u care abt them, u can come back to Nigerian so as to vote for pdp any day any time, but dont stay where ever u claim to be and begin to talk any how, am happy for Edo people because i know hw igbinedion left Edo pple wen he left power, no normal human being will see fire and deep his hands into it. Edo pple deserve this victory.

Yes very true. When APC won in Kogi state he did not send congratulation message. This clearly show how much Oshiomole is respected and regarded.

That speaks volumes of favouritism. GEJ used to congratulate any party or nob party menbers that won. Buhu is just a victimizing person.

hypocrisy, buhari has lost all attributes of aged men which includes fairness and unbias, last time he said his reason for not congratulating victorious candidate is because the victory is still been contested and heading to court, so what's difference now.

The signals for 2019 are not good. Nigeria's electoral process has taken a plunge. Serious questions arise from the governorship election in Edo State that needs to be looked into irrespective of our political association. 1. The Edo state Governor was alleged to have visited the INEC state headquarters where results were being collated at midnight prior to the announcement of the result even though he was not a party agent. OBJ was accused of doing same to rig the election for Prof Osunbor in 2007. Moreover, Oshiomhole was also accused by his party members of rigging the primaries in favour of Obaseki. Having rolled out their programmes, the people should be allowed to decide who governs them. This issue calls to question the popular doctrine of 'one man, one volt as canversed by Oshiomhole. 2. To confirm that the results of the election were written before the election, a party agent raised an issue at the collation centre that their name was not on the vote slip but votes were allocated to them. 3. APC candidate, Shaibu threatened to kill an INEC official in the course of the election as if the election is a 'do or die' affair. These is food for thought for all who believe in genuine democracy.
