An easier way is to calculate focal length is

f = D*D / 16d
D is the diameter of the dish, d is the depth of the dish and f is the focal distance.
Which gives a relationship between the diameter D, the depth d and the focal distance f of the dish.

Meaning you need to know the diameter and the depth of dish to get the focal length.

If you are sure that the diseq is OK then follow this steps. 1st delete all the channels from Astra. 2nd check the diseq number you gave to Astra, after noting the number, scan through the Sat list to make sure you didn't use the same number on another Sat for 28e. Reason: if you have scanned Astra 28e through different SATs, they will clash, at times you will get no signal or unsteady signal. After doing all that trouble shooting, blindscan again but in this kind of case, it's mostly a fault of diseq or the output cable that runs from diseq to decoder. You can consider running a fresh cable if you have one.

Using and assuming diameter is 2.4m and depth=0.375m

Focal length=2.4*2.4/16*0.375 = 0.96m

Your focal length should be 96cm in length

I see you as a boss in this field o, so am kind of afraid to answer you but having understood ify4king and krasican comments about this ftv issue, I believe you can.

Boss i did it o but the channels didn't open, i deleted them and blindscanned, the joy tv and Co didn't appear, though Rave tv and Co appeared, the are still not opening. Someone suggest that i do a re-track while another of my friend suggest that i change the lnb. This will be the 3rd time i am paying for a re-track, after a while, it will start cracking again which will later result to no signal. Max tv works perfect. I also noticed now that the Joy tv before I deleted it had signal of 93 whereas others have 97. What could be the cause?

you allowed to activate only two cards on a single HD decoder, and the card can be used on any strong decoder, except 4940, 4935, 4675, 4672, these ones are mytv pay tv decoders, u can also use the activated card on Q-sat Q11G to open those local channels.

I have already done so but the signal still jumps between 50 and 75%. So guru tell me something else.
