You don't sand fill a river path, it's not done! The force might be temporarily blocked, but it will come over and over again with a better force!

I'm not an engineer, but I know ordinarily, that path should have been bridged, at least! To allow the continuous flow of the river wink

There was a serious commotion this morning in Cameroon after the busy Yaounde / Douala road got divided (due to erosion) with motorists plying the highway. According to an online report, this happened following a heavy rainfall in the area.. The incident which almost had some vehicles swallowed -has left motorists and road users stranded...

I don't know why Africans tend not to be proactive. That road must have been showing signs of distress before collapsing.

They were using cello-tapes to hold the roads together. undecided
@your second pic you have got to be kidding right.

That is just a sink hole. Nothing extra-ordinary and you cannot really tell when it would happen. It happens in developed countries as well.

The gods are angry indeed. grin

This is the major highway between the biggest cities Yaounde and Douala. Everyone resorted to the railway yesterday and the very first train that left Yaounde ended like this below. Cameroon In prayer now!

Earthwake things, the first of its kind in africa, I think Kaduna experienced something of dis nature recently...

Check well, this is not earthquake but stupidity of the authority concerned.i believe a bridge was not constructed for flood or river to pass through thereby weaken and putting pressure on the innocent road thereby wanting to cause lost of life.
