Mr bear is a free giver. grin

But I think banking and financial sector is not so attractive for now.

I Remember telling someone here thatGTB results won't move the stock much. Yet they keep saying it is going to N33

Only hope of dividend and bonus will give financial stocks a boost. cool

We are on a long path to breakthrough. The present government is not helping the situations at hand. Don't be surprise if scarcity of petroleum resurface anytime soon. The policy to liberate the economy to a positive road is far from reachable at the moment. Time to sideline your cash and see what the market is up to (buy in trenches when opportunity arises)! If there's no long lasting solution to our forex market, the stock market will remain volatile, stagnant, and economy will continue to slide! In all, let's continue to pray for NIGERIA grin.

House,As i have started processing my e-dividend mandate with various Registrars that are responsible for the companies i own their shares,i have just this question to ask to enable me do all at once............for example,if i have ucap now and indicated ucap in the form,if the e-dividend is processed and i later buy Afriprud shares which i didnt have when i bought ucap and is also control by the same registrar, will i need to fill another form again or the e-dividend works for all companies under the control of the Registrar once activated.i am asking this because there is a place in the form requesting one to thick the companies they own shares.i hope someone is getting my question?tnx

- well depends but that won't be a major surprise. FX gains & all dat bonaza from this high govt interest environment will help.
- its d NPL ratio that long term investors would be watching
- Q2 NPL ratio was well above regulatory threshold at 22% ! anything far lower is step in d right direction
- at d end of the day , its sentiments that drive markets !

No asper E-dividend Form

However, if you buy another coy much later, you would need to process a Transfer form (the blank ones u sign with your brokers)

Tip:
Just tick every and buy 1000 units or less of the ones u might likely buy in future. So its done and dusted.
Please i stand to be corrected.

You will have to if you didn't process the E-mandate form earlier. Each registrar have a group of stocks they manage. For cardinal stone for instance you can thick all the stocks you have and process the E-mandate at once.

Cardinalatone do not need banker's confirmation and most registrars don't ask for it. The only time they do is if your signature is not regular. VERY important to avoid the stress of going to the bank to process your signature confirmation kindly make sure your signature is regular i.e the same signature you used for your banks should be used when signing those forms. Then make sure you follow up with emails, pester them if possible until they confirm to you that it has been processed. All the best!

Well said my brother.
In addition to the NPL ratio, investors will also be keeping an eye on CAR which stood at 15.4% @ q2, just a little above the regulatory minimum of 15%.
Investors will not want to be caught with a bank with inadequate capital!

Oh, you don't need to buy a 1000 unit except you want to own those stocks and it mustn't be a 1000 unit, just thick the stocks you have already, it is an automated process, the registrars have a record of all the stocks you have. You cannot process E- mandate form for a stock you don't have as it will be verified by the registrars.

Also let me add that if you have outstanding dividend to collect, you will need to write a letter telling your registrar to pay your outstanding dividends to your mandated bank acc. Note that if they have posted the dividend to your address and you didn't get it, you will have to wait 6 months before you can re-apply and your mandated bank account will be credited with your dividend.

Merci lost her independence a few weeks ago.
She must now learn to obey the diktats, and manage the mood swings of an autocrat called "husband".
Knowing how conservative and capricious husbands are in this clime (mercy's husband, pls I'm like that too ooo grin),
your guess is as good as mine who ordered that deactivation, since she is prone to revealing many personal details.
Maturity is not a virtue with new husbands (from personal experience),
so we can help to support the new family by ceasing to post further comments.

My brother I couldn't agree more even though we've all been praying this isn't the case. The writing is on the wall for any one to read. But there are still a very select few though that could perform in the midst of the prolonged down slide. So that's where our gaze is now. Na me carry my mumu self go tie my money down in UCAP else by the end of this month one would be cherry picking some of those select few. It's well

http://techcabal.com/2016/10/25/the-central-bank-of-nigeria-has-ordered-mtn-to-stop-paying-its-shareholders-their-dividends/

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed MTN Nigeria to stop paying dividends to its shareholders as a result of the ongoing investigations into the company’s financial activities in the country.

This directive was announced at a quarterly briefing of MTN’s shareholders. In a letter to it’s shareholders, MTN Nigeria stated that, “The CBN has instructed the banks to suspend any remittance of dividends until further notice. MTN Nigeria continues to refute the allegations that MTN Nigeria had improperly repatriated funds from Nigeria.”

The company also said they will not be making dividend payments to shareholders over the next six months, and will continue to fight the allegations made against them.

In response, shareholders of the company have raised strong concerns regarding this directive by the CBN. According to them, this move is unnecessary, since the dividends are returns on investments, and as such, have nothing to do with MTN’s other financial dealings.

Sola Abodunrin, President of the Ibadan branch of the Shareholders Association of Nigeria, says, “If the dividend has been declared in an annual general meeting, MTN has no right to suspend it. The investigation that is going on is a different thing entirely. A dividend that has been declared must be paid.”

MTN is currently under investigation, following the allegations made by Senator Dino Melaye. He accused MTN of repatriating $13.97 billion dollars illegally through its bankers, and the investigation officially commenced last Thursday.

This is not the first time MTN is having trouble in Nigeria. They only just recently concluded a long battle with the NCC over unregistered SIM cards. Not to mention the N16 billion suit courtesy the Copyright Society of Nigeria. I’m curious to see how the telecom giant is going to come out of this one.

All you need to do is to just send the registrar an email that you bought some other company they manage or call them. In most cases, they would have appropriated the shares to your account already sef especially if you bought through the same broker.
