Eligibility:

You must qualify academically for admission to the University of Edinburgh in the programmes listed above. We encourage applicants to apply to this scholarship BEFORE applying to the University. You must be a resident and citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country, whose personal circumstances would make accepting an offer from the University of Edinburgh difficult. Applications from Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe are particularly welcome;
You must demonstrate a track record of leadership and service within your community; and
You are able to present economically disadvantaged circumstances and be able to show that you lack financial means from family or other sources to pursue post-secondary (university) education in your home country or elsewhere.

Preference will be given to candidates who have not already had the opportunity to study in Scotland.

Selection Criteria:

The scholarships are competitive and awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree. Applicants financial, personal, and family circumstances will also be taken into account.

Applicants must also be committed to returning to Africa following their graduation to give back to their home community and country.

i was a beneficiary of this scholarship when i was in 200l, though i was paid 50k.....i didnt make the cut-off for 100k....i just re-applied again and alot of people are also doing so. not seeing it here, so i wanna share so u can review it. tnx

All Nigerian undergraduates and newly admitted students are now welcomed to apply for the Jim Ovia Scholarship.

This scholarship creates a network of future Nigerian students to compete globally, share and create new ideas, and improve lives in their respective environment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

- Be citizens of Nigeria.
- Have leadership qualities, personal intellectual abilities and be able to help the society at large.

Application Process

- Interested and Eligible applicants should visit jimoviafoundation.org. Click on ‘LOG IN’ or ‘REGISTER NOW’ at top right-hand corner of the homepage

-Create a new account or login with your existing credentials if you already have a Jim Ovia Scholar Account.

The following documents are required for application:

- Original Secondary School Certificate (WAEC or NECO)
Original JAMB certificate

- A valid student ID for your host institution (University/College)

- A passport photograph

- Completed online application

- Valid Government ID (e.g. International passport, Voter’s Card, National ID or Driver’s License). The only exception will be for minors below the age of 18 years who are unable to apply for a government ID. In which case, a birth certificate will be accepted in lieu of a government ID for such minors.

- An official original letter (not photocopied) from your school/Head of Department stating the following: – Your full name, Course Title, Department of Study, CGPA, Gender, Matriculation number OR Newly matriculated who have not yet received a matriculation number or school ID must provide a provisional admission letter to their institution of study.

Delta State Bursary & Scholarship For 2016/2017 Online Registration Is On

The Delta States Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced the commencement of the online bursary registration of students for 2016/2017 student special assistance scheme.

According to the press release, to be eligible for the

Bursary Award;

All Applicants must

- Be of Delta State Origin
- All applicant MUST have registered with National Identification Management Commission (NIMC)
- Be a Registered full-time student only of any Public Tertiary Institutions.
(Diploma, Masters and PhD Students are not eligible).
- Either be in Second year or above (200 to 500 level) in the Universities or
- Be in HND I and II in the Polytechnics / Monotechnics.
- Be in 200 level and above for Colleges of Education Students.

Have a CGPA of 2.20 and above in the previous academic year's examination.

Also, to be eligible for the Scholarship Award;

All Applicants must:

- Be of Delta State Origin.
- All applicant MUST have registered with National Identification Management Commission (NIMC).

2017 PTDF PhD & Msc Scholarship Scheme For Nigerian Students

We are pleased to announce to you that the Petroleum Technology Development Fund(PTDF) is offering scholarships to Nigerian students who wants to pursue a PhD or Masters program Home and Abroad.

Suitable qualified candidates can study at Top Universities in the United States of America, Brazil, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Federal Universities in Nigeria.

Eligibility

For Masters:

- Applicants must be Nigerian

- Applicants must have completed their bachelors degree program with a Minimum of second class upper(2.1) 0r (2.2) in oil and gas related fields.

- Applicants must be Computer literates.

- Applicants must have CREDIT in English language(at least a C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 in NECO).

- Applicants should not be more than 30 years.

- Applicants must have a NYSC discharge certificate.

For PhD:

- Applicants must be Nigerians

- Applicants must have completed their Masters and Bachelors degree program with a minimum of 2.2 in their first degree and a Merit in their second degree.

- Applicants must not be above 40 years old.

- Applicants must have a valid admission letter.

Application Process

Applications can be accessed by purchasing a scratch card from designated main branches of First bank across Nigeria and pay a Non-refundable fee of N1000. Instructions on how to access the application form is clearly written at the backside of the card.

Application forms can also be accessed online via www.ptdf.gov.ng using an ATM (interswitch, masters, visa) card.

The following documents are required for application:

- First degree certificate or statement of results

- NYSC discharge certificate.

- WAEC/NECO/GCE/WAEC results.

- Two recent passport photographs.

- Local government identification letter.

- Masters degree certificate(for PHD applicants)

- Admission letter(for PhD applicants)

Applicants should note that only candidates who meet the requirements will be shortlisted and invited for interview.

PTDF Scholarships for Undergraduate, Masters & PhD in Nigeria & Overseas




The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship’s mission is to train Nigerians to qualify as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the field of engineering, geology, science and management in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria or abroad.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility: Students interested in the PTDF scholarships must fulfill the following:

MSc (OSS And LSS)

A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience
National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate.
Applicants must be computer literate.
Possession of O/level with Credit in English Language; At least C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 and above in NECO.
Applicants must not be above 30 years of age.

Applicants for OSS must be in possession of the following:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (USA).
G.R.E (Graduate Record Examination) (USA).
GMAT – for Management related courses (USA).
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (UK).

PhD (OSS And LSS)
A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience;
National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate;
Applicants must be computer literate;
Possession of O/level with Credit in English Language; (At least C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 and above in NECO); and
Employment in the academics in reputable Nigerian Institution, teaching oil and gas related disciplines;
A minimum of 2.2 in their first degree and a minimum of merit as a second degree certificate in an oil and gas related discipline;
Submit a research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective, methodology relevance to the industry and mode of data collection;
Possess a valid admission letter; and
Must not be over 40 years of age
