In general, i find it quite funny and unfortunate that Turkey, one the large NATO members cannot guarantee security in the country. In Europe, after the France and the U.K, the largest NATO partner is Turkey.


How come violence in that Country is relentless, with some parts in the South looking like Syria.

it may be but economically it can compare to other Europeans states.the struggle by kurds for self autonomy has being going on for a very long time,also other neighbouring states have supported in arming kurds in turkey and dont forget the collapse of several states in that region and wars,have helped kurds get access to arms

Turkey is way more insecure than many Sub-Saharan states. If they had colonialists occupying and exploiting them for 200 years like the rest of Africa, they'd had been in a far worse state.

its actually the 7th and having such a big force does take a big share of its budget.other countries may not be rich as turkey but the have the EU to cushion their economy turmoil e.g Greece. both Turkish and Kurds have too much pride about each other culture,language e.t.c this year turkey economy is projected to grow by at least 1.5% their economy is in real problems.erdogan is even threaten EU if turkey talks to be member don't proceed,he is going to allow syrian refugees to flood inside EU states

It is completely disingenuous to compare Nigeria with Turkey. When the British left Nigeria in 1960 only 5% of the Nigerian population at the time was educated.

Unlike Turkey, we did not have Europe on our borders to trade with.

Just like Turkey, we have completely collapsed states on our borders. Chad was in a civil war for more than 30 years right on our northern borders, we had Niger , we had to deal with refugees, hundreds of thousands of them from Liberia and Sierra-Leone, just like Turkey had to deal with them from Syria. Separatists in the south also.

We have the complete mess that is Libya, we had to deal with arms from Angola and Equitorial Guinea.

We don't have NATO to depend on, we don't even have 1/4 the size of the Turkish military. Neither did we have hundreds of years of self governance like Turks/Ottomans

By all accounts we've done very well.

Infact, we have the opportunities or the military might of Turkey, the entire West-Africa, not just Nigeria would be very very peaceful and prosperous. We cannot say the same for Turkey.

What Romance? The so-called Romance only starts after the failed coup. Had it been there was no coup, do you think Ankara will be this friendly with Moscow?

apart from Russia and US no country have a great def industry like dat of Germany.
don't forget Germany have the largest no of troops n hardware in Europe.
