Much respect for your decision. But you should know tha you guys must have a strong and respected priciple/doctrine guiding your marriage unless it would be easy to fall.
Religion has it good effect on marriages. Patners cannot be at par with eachother cos decision making will be a problem when ideas conflict eachother.
Cos religion didn't give women ruling power doesn't make it anti_women. Understand the benefits of men and women, you'll most likly reverse that statement.
thanks

amanfrommars come and see a Christian that is willng to marry an atheist tongue

2dugged,

All I see is you being angry at what you seen others do in your church. I'm afraid, you're looking at the wrong examples. When the bible said "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" it was and still remains a big truth. Agreement (as I see it) in that scripture goes deep to fundamental beliefs. A Christian husband gone bad may to listen to his pastor talk sense to him. I doubt any atheist will allow you practice Christianity with his kids. I doubt he will even be all smiles when you take a part of your income and pay as tithe. He may act like he doesn't care, but for how long? how long will he watch you 'enrich a pastorpreneur?' So many more instances I can give.

Am I saying you should choose a man who maltreats you because he's Christian? No. There are good men who treat a woman right. It is better being with one having similar beliefs as you.

Except you want to be agnostic or 'send less' about church. But if you want to serve God in spirit and in truth, well...

Marriage is not for two weeks. It is for a lifetime.

Be careful who you spend it with.

God's grace.

to you,but how many Christians that married believer are problem free, if marrying a Christian brother will not guarantee a happy home, then why should I use it as a strict criteria?, I have seen terrible marriage between Christians and between non Christians too,so why then should I have to wait and fast and pray and make the church my second resident only to be faced with the same marital problems and unbeliever will face?
And marrying an atheist will make the problems easier to handle?

I said if made to choose between an atheist and another religion, I would rather go for an atheist, that doesn't mean I am searching for an atheist

i always say it... I believe in God's existence but the problem is the word religion... people have abused it... remember Christianity is not a religion to those that truly knows the meaning but a personal relationship with God... and hi show me a marriage between people that also don't believe in God that is perfect... don't get it twisted. it not because he or she is a Muslim or Christian.. it's simple a personality issues
I agree with you totally. How to treat a spouse is a personal choice.

johnydon22:

You mean teachings like these

Surah 4:34
"Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given
one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from
their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding
in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard.
But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise
them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally],
strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means
against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand."

and this

Timothy 2 :11 -15
" A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not
permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she
must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam
was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and
became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing—if
they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety."

These books are your models on how to treat women? then i'll say you have no idea how to treat women because the obvious misogyny emanating from these makes women no less than a property.

No wonder Pastor Chris likened husband and wife to Master and servant position...

Considering women inferior creatures is that good for the world?

So you need to believe in a certain entity's existence before you can figure out you should

-Love
-Respect
-worship
-cherish

Your wife?

That is the saddest life on can think of, since you cannot figure out on your own from your independent reason how to treat others in a relationship but rely on old archaic outdated books written in an era that you are way ahead of both intellectually and technologywise.

This is 2016 not BC's brother.

You do not need a book to tell you how to treat your wife, if you cannot figure out how to treat a woman in your life on your own without a book written by men with numerous wives telling you - then i believe you need help.

If the books with the verses up there are your models for how to treat women then i am 100% sure you do not know how to treat women.

A relationship is a mutual ground that require mutual love and respect, compromises, trust, loyalty and reverence for each other

I don't need any God to tell me that because frankly the God(s) in those books up there got it all wrong.

I would like to point out that this is my personal opinion, I know the bible admonishes us to not be equally yoked with unbelievers,
This shows you're selective on which part of your religious book you subscribe to.

This makes you a skeptic, a very dominant population among religious groups today, especially the Christian religion.

2dugged:

but looking at the pros and cons, it will be more advantageous as a woman to marry an atheist
The relationship between a man and a woman is unique for each couple, whatever is the definition of the relationship.

But the common denominators of average relationships that works are:

*love (void of religious strain)
*respect
*trust

If any couple shares these attitudes mutually, they will make a successful relationship, their religious inclinations notwithstanding.

2dugged:

than to marry from another faith considering that doctrines of religions are anti-women and tend to portray the woman as inferior
There are folks who are adherent of these other faith, who don't take such misogynistic rules seriously.

A suitable spouse can be found in such skeptics.

stop this nonsense!havent you seen atheist that are worst in character than all the christians brothers put together.i agreed that marriage deals with personality and not wat one believe! but if you call your self a true christian you will know better than to spend the rest of your life with a person who dont give a dam about your God. honestly like you stated ealier, it is your opinion and you can marry watsoever you want to marry.and please remember that some occultics, herbalist and street stouts dont usually have a bad marriage you can consider marrying them too.. the most annoying thing is when they bring all this lame opinion. they term themselves "christian". u tink been a christian is all about carrying bible and going to church.

No matter what you think or believe, the worst Christlike, is better than the best aetheist. A person who believes in Christ, yet still lives a sinful life, has hope of someday, totally repenting. What hope does an aetheist have? Judge for yourself!

i already know were you stand... i never for a minute believe you are a christian. talking about opinion and decisions you must agree with me that there are opinion and decisions that are very foolish and not worth respecting. and again if you are a christian and you intend to marry an atheist, you should have been wise enough to keep it to yourself instead of coming here to gain cheap "likes" and corrupt other young gals.

hehehehe, imp?, that should be you, you are only pained, I can get, but I suggest you go and hang yourself if you can't take it any longer, you so called brothers in the church are worse, putting on your best attitude in church where as outside you are no different, you are one of the fanatics I was referring to on one of my comments, and I am not an atheist, I do believe there is God, but the difference is that I am not a religious fanatic like you.
